In Worms Engine 2 the map size has to be of 1960 X 696 pixels. But Worms Fusion is a rather different game, a platform i think, so it has different limits or no limits...

Yes i do making the levels and such but meh also i come up with idea's in brain storming sessions with plasma for the game.

Nope, Agent, you cannot choose the parallax background, but you can change the theme (music, art, pirate...) and Did you notice that in the Worm Engine 2 missions the parallax background and the flocks are ice-styled?

This game is cool, it has nice jokes =)
Good job! A bit difficult, I could only reach level 2 in the missions..
I cant wait for the full game:D
2 things though:
1 When I select the mission or the other one with the green worms, the game says the is an error by creating nr X where X is the number. I just ignoed it though..
2 It takes 5 minutes for my computer to start, but its worth it to wait =D

is it possible to make the game not restart the mission when I accidentally go out of the screen? Maybe place an invisible border there?

Plasma, I really quite admire your programming skills.
I have spent the entire day making a slightly advanced version of tic-tac-toe in C++ complete with a very rudimentary AI, and the only graphics you'll see there is ASCII art for the playing grid. Yet, this is the most complex thing I am capable of doing...
Then again, I didn't really spend any more than today. And I only spent 6 hours of today. And it's no more than 350 lines of code. But still...
Well done.
I tried the demo... and I can't get past the menu. Which IMHO is 500% overscaled, and the mouse does not work. (Yes, I agree GameMaker rocks :rolleyes: )

The help window which apears when pressing SPACE (which the help says means sellect) is also way to long and confusing, noway anybody is going to read all of that...

At the bottom of the download page (after you click "free") there's some text which says "wait x seconds for download" or something similar. Wait until the number drops to zero, and there you have a link to the download. Easy as proverbial pie, if you're as observant as I am.
Lets see if I can put a summary of problems:
1: Can't find link.
-Scroll down the screen to buttons saying 'Free' or 'Premium'. Click on Free. Then Scroll down the next page. If there is a timer there, wait until it has finished. Click on link to start download.
2: Download won't start.
-Problem unknown.
3: Game gives error: 'THERE HAS BEEN AN UNEXPECTED ERROR WHEN RUNNING GAME'
-Problem with download or computer. (Check that The computer has DirectX fully functional)
4: Game will not finish loading.
-Problem unknown, but is being checked.
5: Menu not working.
-Use <up> and <down> to move cursor, space to select, buttions in grey can not be selected.
6: Game displays message: 'File not Found'.
-You are missing a music file. Check the word document supplied with 'WormsFusion.zip' for more information.

1: If there is a message: 'file invalid or corrupt', then you have to redownload.
2: I'll see if I can get the specs needed for the game.
3: Hmm... that error seems to be rather common. (most likely due to bad comps).

Just one little thing... If the hats moved with the worms when they breath, it would look way better...

BTW, that "never finishes loading" probby is that it takes approx. 5 min to load and ur too quick for it!

yeh...i got that now, it probably needs a quicker way of selecting and something telling you what you have selected... still its good, although im stuck on lv. 1... (after my 4th attempt though :p )
1: More notes I forgot to mention:
I think the game loads faster if you do not switch programs while loading.
Pressing space while the cursor is on the 'WromsFusion' button will give the game information.
The number in the top left corner in VRA mode (the one with the square ground) is the frames per second. The standard is 30.
2: Voices do not come out of the worms. Voices take up loads of room.
3: Metal Alex, I tried that but it looked terrible. And when you say there's no probs, does that include no lagging anywhere?
4: Yes, it seems difficult, but it's addictive enough that you will finish it.
5: By the way, this game is designed so that you want to keep going back to playing it, as it takes little time to play.
6: 2p, do you mean level 1 of the missions or VRA?
That wierd mode is annoying. Its hard.
Hey Plasma, I just played the mode above missions, and now I have got a few questions:
1 Is it possible to win? how then?
2 The enemies just let me fall through the floor, and Im in a different coloured level, but theres only two of each level, is it meant to circle in those two only?
When you got hit once, its like saying: youre dead now.. Its impossible to make no miskakes :S
I have to use shotgun and keep tapping space, but theres 1000's of shots against mine.. And, Im through the floor..
in mission 1 level 1, how do u kill that worm in the lower-left corner?
I've been trying to figure that out for ages!

6: I'll try make the same demo but with less bugs.
7: The links are supposed to only last 30 days, so if anyone has anothr place to upload them and have broadband, feel free to do so.

WF demo, its great to have my internet back
I told people earlier; the game has a bigger loading time than the newest 3D super-graphics games!
It takes less than 10 seconds for me, 2.4 ghz. I'm glad you made the game. It's always entertaining playing worms fans games, and this one is the most sophisticated I've seen so far.
I would like to point out 1 main issue. The constant shooting wrecks the game, in my opinion. The missions become too easy because you can clearly see where it is safe for your worm to stand in order to kill the enemys. The death matches become too difficult because the land disappears at an alarming rate. You end up killing most the enemys by making them shoot themselves.
Overall... you did a good job.
Uh-oh, I uploaded the wrong version of the game. (uploading correct version now)
And I know about that loading bar bug. That's why I removed that from the new version.
And for anyone that has a problem, please PM me the prob and your computer specs.
And Etho, what would you give it out of ten?

As a worms fan game I would probably give it a 7. As a game on its own it would get a much lower score due to it's errors, graphics, interface, sound, and gameplay issues. Of course it's not like you poured 3 years of your life into making the game so these short comings are totally acceptable.

It can't be played online, to let you know Gardy (so you don't need internet)
The only solution I have to that unexpected error prob is to get a better comp. (Or download a DirectX higher than version8, if you haven't done that)
And Muzer, there's no reason to give others a 100% savegame as there's only singleplayer stuff and it's only a short demo.

Besides, how many times are you gonna look directly up or down?
Unknown, it's good, but as I said before, it's not very wormy. And it's too large, 640x480 would be the limit.

flamethrower=plasmathrower (btw, i don't mean the forumer plasma i mean the raw energy kind of plasma) shoots blueish purple stuff at the target
parachute=shield:a blue forcefield protects the user as he drops but it bounces and it is unaffected by mines

I had some kind of idea... It could make the game a bit more playable...
You could put a "reload time" (for real time games):
I mean, you shot, and you have to wait a bit before the next shot. for some weapons like the shotgun (2 shots) or uzis (say... 20 shots?) the reload time could start when there are no shots left. If possible, it could be different for weapon. In this way, comp players could shot less often...
Just a though, anyway.

If colours change however, he should get an aura, too.

Just looking through, I might have found the solution to the "unexpected error" problem!
It could be because of the file named 'worms'. It will be in the same folder as the WormsFusionDemo.exe Try renaming that to something else, such as WormsCopy. Then try the game again.
Please tell me (exactly) what happens.

Great! Now it says "An unexpected error occurred while running the game" and in a file called "Errors" it says "Searching for object charselect. File does not exist"

2. The ability to actually pause in game.
3. When you quit, when you come back in that it doesn't suddednly start you over again in the campaign, that it would take you to the main menu.

10 characters again, already unlocked. (different from the demo ones, and some will also affect the weapons's sprites (not how it works)). Multiplayer. Network Play. Team creator (if you A. Can't make that or B. Weren't intending to, just keep it as select character. Also when you select character hopefully it will make the rest of your team look like him). And finally: Whatever that feature was in the options menu that showed Psyke_O standing on a crate.:p If that's the tutorial, just keep the other features.
This will be the multiplayer only demo.

It doesn't work on my computer. I don't know why.
Okay here is what happens. I have downloaded it. I go into the folder and extract all the files and then I click on the demo (double click) and the logo comes up. I wait. After a minute and 6 secs this message comes up saying "Failed to load the game data. File seems corrupt." I click the "OK" button and the message and the logo go. Why???

Ok... I'll put here the weapons that I'll replace in this demo:
Holy hand grenade: Sacred punishment, just a light sphere instead of the granade. The Ahleluya remains.
Landbomb: Pacman, the only thing different is that it remains there a bit of time opening an closing the mouth (like eating the ground). Then dispappears (shrinking could look nice). If it's possible, make it look like the one in my avatar randomly very unusually.
Dinamite: banger, the same, but a bit more "self-made"
Smartbomb: Watcher, the same, but it's an eye with wings.
Homing missile: clever bazooka, The same, but if possible, make it wind affected, and with a bit more damage, if not possible, doesn't matter.
Grenade: Marble, the same... but a marble (random color. If not possible, then doesn't matter).
Cluster grenade: Advanced marble, the same, but it's a shining marble (random color again, if possible)

The fact its pasted from something else is that i drawn it it paint and pasted in flash (paint which isnt good at circles and psykes one has a low quality ROUND glasses i used paint too)

Zook: Paintball gun (ammo green colour)
Nade: Waterbaloon, green, blue-ish explosion.

Smartbomb: Red ammo paintball gun.
HHG: An alarm clock, lets out a ring before detonation.
Dynamite: Papyrus scroll.
Shotgun: Two Star Wars blasters. (orange tip and grey body)
Uzi: One Star Wars blaster. (blue tip)
Landbomb: Idon't know what's a landbomb just do a large cookie.
Sheep: A hopping papyrus scroll.

my weapons: hack PC: replaces air strike. does 20 damage and its a laptop and i place it in front of the worm and sort of a green scanning light comes from the back of the PC and goes on another worm. so when the worm i scanned ges near water it gets zapped!
matrix punch: does 35 damage and replaces the fire punch and works exacly like it but no bandana.
lightsaber: [you know what it is]does 40 HP and replaces the base ball bat.. i can use it only 2 times.
poison needle:replaces the gas canister and does 9 HP each turn..must be the same distance as the prod.
throwing knifes:does 10 damage per' knife [ iget to use it twice each turn]replaces the bow and arrow.
repel:works and replaces just like the ninga rope only i can throw it at worms and does 10 damage!

Sheep---> Toaster on wheels
Super Sheep---> Super toaster on wheels
Ninja rope---> A garden swing
Armageddon---> Hyper Mouse Strike (Hologram looking mice with odd patterns fall from the sky)
Bungee---> Elastic band
Sheep Launcher ---> Toater Launcher
Old Woman--->Furby
Sheep Strike---> Toaster Strike
Pneumatic Drill---> Laser Shovel (A shovel that sends out beams to destroy land beneath you)
Blow torch---> Tamed Pac Man (You hold onto it's reigns)
Kamikaze--->Mad Pac Man (As above but faster and explodes)
Viking Axe---> Flower Power (Holds up sunflower that sends out light beam at -40 degree angle (Aprox) until level with tail of worm)
Flamethrower---> Smilie thrower (Throws out different smilies at enemy.
Concrete donkey---> 42 (I love the hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy. just a giant 42 that falls from the sky)
Napalm Strike---> Smilie strike (see Smilie thrower)
Mad Cows ---> Stick man army (Like it sounds)
Air strike---> Orbital laser strike (Laser beams come down from the sky)
Earthquake---> Tectonic teddy bear (A random teddy bear appears in the background and starts pounding it)
Dragonball---> Chakram (I throw a chakram at the enemy)
Firepunch---> Firepunch (but using the flaming sock puppet hand)
French sheep strike---> French toaster strike (All toasters have french moustaches)
Bazooka---> Boo Boo Babazooka (don't ask) (Sends out a blue plasma ball)

My sigworm is quite different. I'll try to not make it too much overpowered...
Let's go...
Rarsonic will have health(50 pts), shield (100 pts) and rechargable energy(200 pts)
Shield:A protective shield that...well...protects Rarsonic. It is regenerable. It is independent of the energy.
Anti-gravity fields:Makes Rarsonic fly. Consumes 5 energy/half-second.
Dark Lighting:Just an instantaneous red lighting. Does 40 damage and consumes 25 energy/shot
Dark Sparking:Some kind of red electrical balls with medium speed dispersed in every shot. Each does 20 points damage and the shot consumes 30 energy.
Gravity Control:Rarsonic atracts objects or repeals them using its gravity modules in hands. Consumes 5 energy/half-second while in use. This is optional. You can prescind of it if you do not have not much skill.
Dark Energy Blast:When in danger, Rarsonic can create an explosion out of itself, substracting 100 energy and 75 shield.
Paralyze:Sends some electricity to stop the victim's neuro-circuits. It spends 75 energy.
Dark Beam:Sends a wide beam that can go through ground, but it takes 5 seconds to charge. It damages 25/half-second and consumes 10/half-second.
If anyone hits Rarsonic in the backpack generator when it is without shield, it explodes and dies automaticaly.

I think Plasma already said he only needed weapons like zook, HHG etc.

Bazooka: same stats: the launcher is blue not green, and the shells it fires are on fire
Cluster: same stats: the clusters that spawn after the bomb explodes are on fire
Dynamite: the same
Homing missile: same stats: launcher is red: the missile is flaming
Smart bomb: same stats: the projectile is kinda like a robotic orb, like them protection droids from star wars, oh yeah and the launcher is gold
HHG: the same
Grenade: the same exept theyre blue not green
Shotgun: the same exept the launcher looks like a sniper rifle
Uzi: the same
Sheep: the same: exept the sheep itself is slightly robotic (with a cyborg eye and etc)
Prod: the same exept instead of a finger prod my character gets out his flaming sword and and slashes the target with it....alll same stats though
NEW WEAPONS:
Dragon Ball: like the original dragon ball exept the projectile is normal fire colour not strange purple colour, and the it does a little more damage, yet doesnt push as far
Fire Explosion: an AoE (area of effect) attack, produces a very small VERY short range attack that deals moderate damage to all surounding the character, including whats above and bleow the character, does very small land damage as well (meaning that after the attack is used the character drops down abit because hes destroyed some land below him!)
id make a sprite if i had a naked 2D worms worm, could someone psot one? thanks

Are we allowed to do special weaps? And do you think flaming stuff is too difficult? I mean I wanted some flaming weaps but I thought it'll be too much work for Plasma.
1: Rarsonic, I'm gonna have to think about yours.
2: I can do flaming weapopns to a small extent. But I won't have them for just anything, it has to be related to your sigworm.
3: No special weapons.

grave is a banana skin, My worm is just a normal worm holding a shiny gold banana
When i'm playing scientist, I have a white lab coat on, with rulers, protractors, pencils etc. sticking out the pockets I have a 'nana that replaces the Supersheep but the 'nana is coloured shiny gold, and you can fly it like a supersheep! It even has a cape on when flying! It explodes on impact, or after a 30sec fuse. It gains it's superness by pressing space It looses it's supernes by pressing space again. Everything else is like the 'nana (clusters, etc.) but it does 85 damage in total. The sheep's new colour will be rgb 255, 255, 0
pigeon 255, 0, 255 My finishing move is I throw my golden 'nana like a boomerang, it explodes the enimie, and then the banana-boomerang comes back to me and lops my head off, and it lands upside-down on my body and stays like that (it doesn't explode)

just to tell you, in my opinion, the menus should be changed...
i'd suggest something similar to the WA/WWP layout.
Muzer, when I said you could be a scientist, I meant for the story only, not as a playable character.

I blow raspberries at the enemy and I have to stay on the spot for 2 seconds while doing. If I do it succesfully, without the enemy hitting me in between, I gain 10 health! Also instead of slabber coming off my tongue, have mini bits of fireballs!
For my surrender I would like my worm to go really mad and open his mouth, which looks like a firey furnace, then I explode:p.

These are false teeth on legs, that chatter as they walk! Just before they explode, they catch fire!
Is that creative enough, or can you give me an example of what you mean by "Creative"?
