if the public statement is that you're doing something wrong and helpfully suggesting tips on how to improve, and the theme of that statement is friendly and the person still replies by yelling at everyone then the problem is not the way the help was delivered. if he doesn't want to listen to advice he's not going to. PMs aren't going to help the problem.
Every time I saw people telling shadowmoon about his posting habits, the attitude was anything but friendly.
If someone actually DOES PM him and he still acts thick-headed, then he's thick-headed. To me it really does look like he's just being defensive most of the time anyone is "suggesting tips".
I think pretty much every time people will act less stupid in PMs than out in the open. Constantly making fun of him out in the open won't solve anything.
Posting stupid antics in this thread is one thing, but when I see a flame out in the public forum, I report it. (Unless it's really funny. :p)
That said, I'm still extremely suspicious about that "pikaboy" thing. Either:
A) Some one used his account for a joke.
B) He's a fake.
C) He legitimately likes Pokémon that much.

but then as soon as they get into high school, BAM'Cept we don't have high school here. Most of the time, 11 to 16 year olds are all taught in the same schools. It's structured like this, pretty much
Primary school
Nursery (3 to 4 years old)
Reception (4 to 5)
Key Stage 1 (Infants)
Year 1 (I1) (5 to 6)
Year 2 (I2) (6 to 7)
Key Stage 2 (Juniors)
Year 3 (J1) (7 to 8)
Year 4 (J2) (8 to 9)
Year 5 (J3) (9 to 10)
Year 6 (J4) (10 to 11)
Secondary school (usually Comprehensive, occasionally private school, grammar school, secondary modern or City Academy)
Key Stage 3
Year 7 ("first year") (11 to 12)
Year 8 ("second year") (12 to 13)
Year 9 ("third year") (13 to 14)
Key Stage 4 (GCSE or equivalent)
Year 10 ("fourth year") (14 to 15)
Year 11 ("fifth year") (15 to 16)
Tertiary college (Further education college or sixth form college; A-levels or equivalent)
Year 12 (16 to 17)
Year 13 (17 to 18)
(NB: In my old primary school, Years 1 and 2 were taught together, as were Years 3 and 4 and Years 5 and 6 (Nursery and Reception were also in the same room, but handled by two different teachers). We had a small enough intake (roughy 100 pupils) that it all worked out okay.

I'm 26 and have two half siblings from my father aged 2 and 5 years.
A bit different though.
In Shadowmoon's case if it's his full brother, that would mean his mother was pregnant with him at the age of 43 if you calculate a very early pregnancy with the brother at the age of 16, which is not a likely constellation.
Any pregnancy a few years later would mean a pregnancy near his mother's menopause, which according to Wikipedia averagely sets on at the age of 51.
An even less likely situation.
In both cases doctors would probably be against a pregnancy.
I say he's another candidate for the Fwd. Adm. award.

AHAHAHAHAAHAHAH.
He sent me this:
Hello. Now as i said, Shadowmoon will be either one of us. As i said before, my little brother takes things really seriously. He joined this forum because he wanted to be happy. Anyway, just, try to leave him alone. If he does something wrong, say how it can be corrected in a nice way. Not in a nasty way. But my brother is honestly, the most serious person on earth.
Words of advice:
a) Stop making threads.
b) Stop repeating people's comments or observations on a subject.
c) Stop pretending you are older.
No, honestly my big brother will be sharing this account.
And then, about 40 minutes later, he sent me another one:

Fine i was pretending. But i have got a 29 year old brother. Anyway, i don't care about what you say, or anybody else. I couldn't care less if my opinions were bad. Anyway, i decided i would put you on my ignore list. I have also decided to put another member on there too, but the member will remain unamed. I am ready to turn over a new leaf. Also, you can carry on mocking me and giving me advice, but don't forget, i can't see any of your posts at all, so there's no point really. Now you may ask, why did you put me on there? because you, are the person who is driving me up the walls! anyway don't bother replying to anything i say, because i won't reply because i am hiding your posts:p

The ignore list is stupid.
If I ever put someone on it (which I don't since I became a mod) I found I'd read all their posts that I saw. Then I'd think "I'm glad I didn't have to read that because they are on my ignore list". Then I'd feel silly.

You probably can test that easily by saying something positive about him or acknowledging something he said.
Or bash on someone that says something against him.
If he then replies, you know you're not on the ignore list.
Simple way is to PM him - the forum won't let you PM him if he's ignored you.

Worse things have happened around here. I recall something relating to a lack of comma were needed.
Personally, large scale pedanticism irritates the hell out of me on forums. Somebody missplaced a comma or apostrophe, big whoop. I'm talking mainly about someone picking up on a one off mistake somewhere and making a big fuss about it.

i wasn't down w/ that at 12yeah well...with all the media's over-zealous "sex sells" stuff kids these days (at least in america) tend to be WAY over-sexed. whether or not they even know what they're doing/talking about.
for instance: a friend of mine told me that she was substitute teaching last year at a local school and she picked up a note some kids were passing in her class of second graders. apparently the note included the lines "I want to have sex with you." Shadowmoon's posts on Yauhui's forum are quite unintentionally hilarious, but he's written little "comedy stories" which are quite, quite dire. I figured I'd have a go. As it'll likely get deleted before the weekend, I'll post it here for your enjoyment.
1 - INT. TEAM17.TK CLUBHOUSE - CONFERENCE ROOM - MIDDAY
It is dark. The curtains are drawn, and all but a thin crack of light is blocked. By the window we can see SHADOWMOON standing, holding a glass of sherry, trying to look out of the window.
From a nearby door enters YAUHUI, carrying a small briefcase and a half-eaten sandwich.
YAUHUI
Shadowmoon, your lunch has arrived.
SHADOWMOON
(Not turning away from the window)
Set it down on the table.
YAUHUI
Yes, sir.
There is a moment of silence. Tentatively, YAUHUI walks up to SHADOWMOON and stands beside him, trying to find out what it is he's trying to look at. SHADOWMOON, without blinking or moving, is simply aware that YAUHUI is at his side.
SHADOWMOON
They hate us, Yauhui. They can't stand the sight of us.
YAUHUI
Who?
SHADOWMOON
The adults, Yauhui. They see our kind as a vermin, a cancerous plague upon their land. Look at them down there, walking their walk, talking their talk. Plotting our demise...
YAUHUI
I, um, I can't really see them.
SHADOWMOON
Mm.
YAUHUI
Can't see much of anything, really.
SHADOWMOON
Mm.
YAUHUI
Prob'ly because the curtains are shut.
SHADOWMOON pivots on his spot, waving his arms theatrically. His sherry vacates his glass in a most unclean manner, leaving splashes of the alcoholic beverage across the carpet, furniture, and YAUHUI'S face. It's clear SHADOWMOON is trying to make a bold impression. He instead comes across as a little foolish. Nevertheless, he begins his over-hammed march across the room.
SHADOWMOON
Bah!
YAUHUI
(Turns to face SHADOWMOON)
Right.
SHADOWMOON
I try to fit in, y'know. I have made attempts to be clever, witty, contribute to conversations. Each time I try, though, I am ridiculed. Why is this, Yauhui? Why do they hate me so?
YAUHUI
It might have something to do with the fact that you talk a load of ol' rollocks, Shadowmoon.
SHADOWMOON
(Dismissively)
No, it's not that.
YAUHUI
Or the fact that you don't, in fact, contribute to conversations at all, instead offering smatterings of nonsensical rambligns and unrelated minutia.
SHADOWMOON
(Still dismissive, now gesturing)
Definitely not.
YAUHUI
(Now humoring SHADOWMOON)
Is it... because you're young?
SHADOWMOON
(Violent pointing)
YES! Yes, exactly that. Why wouldn't they like me, after all? I am witty, charming, effervescent...
YAUHUI
I don't think that means what you think it means.
SHADOWMOON
...And still they shun me! I don't think it's because of my personality, Yauhui, for I am wise and cunning beyond my years.
YAUHUI looks directly at the camera at this point and rolls his eyes.
SHADOWMOON
No, it must be because of my age. But how to get them back...?
SHADOWMOON places one foot on a chair and begins to slowly stroke his chin. The camera pulls out to reveal a portrait behind him, of SHADOWMOON in that exact same position.
SHADOWMOON
Wait. I've got it!
Cut to:
2 - INT. DREAM17 H.Q. - S-2K'S OFFICE - MIDDAY
SQUIRMINATOR2K is sat at his computer drinking Pepsi. To his immediate right is SUPSUPER, sat at a separate computer. Both are working on Dream17. IN the corner of the room, MTLANGELUS is hammering out a wicked-killer guitar solo.
SQUIRMINATOR2K
Oh look, another email from U2. Dammit Bono, I don't care how many times you ask, I will not join the band. I'm just too busy writing my comic and climbing mountains and sleeping with moviestars to play lead guitar and sing vocals on your next album.
SUPSUPER

Who is "the mysterious gaboo"?
Cut to:
3 - INT. TEAM17.TK CLUBHOUSE - CONFERENCE ROOM - MIDDAY
SHADOWMOON looks out the (still curtained) window laughing manically.

4 - INT. DREAM17 H.Q. - S-2K'S OFFICE - MIDDAY
S2K and SUPSUPER look at each other, then shrug.

if your now here to just start feuds everywhere then back off.
also, one more word about me taking the internet seriously or anything, then i'll spam your site again, this time with 40 posts.
Also, i've contributed a lot to this forum a) i have suggested some ideas that have been considered. b) made the forum a little more active.
c) and finally, a guide on what to expect from zetaboards
also, for the team 17 forum i may not have contributed anything. so?
anyway, this stops NOW.
I told him if he takes the internet so seriously he'd do well to stop sending me abusive messages by PM, as there is precedent for legal action being taken against those who harass others online.

Well, he did spam Dream17 and PM'ed nasty messages to S-2k. And I don't really think S-2k provoked him, he merely made an statement or gave his point of view.

Well, first up he said he was 12, not 9 (he also said he was 27 at one point, but eh).
Secondly, he would use his age as an excuse for not knowing stuff that I'm pretty sure I knew when I was 12 (mostly related to maths), and was just generally obtuse.
Thirdly, when people tried to explain stuff to him, he either wouldn't listen (because he said that he wasn't going to learn it because they hadn't done it in school yet) or got angry.
I think that mostly covers why people deliberately began to wind him up.
