I hav too many mods, I'm not gonna go through them all again.
Although I do hav the bouncing bomb mod. That would be my best mod. It's a bazooka that bounces on ground. (as well as causing an explosion)

Wow! I also made the Concrete Donkey Weapon drop three Concrete Donkeys, however I could only get them to work like the WFUS Trojan Donkey :( They would explode after a few seconds, not after a few turns though.

By the way, what options did you (Yes, I mean you Plasma) change in the Weaptwk to get 3 or more Super Sheep?

Edit: I have also managed to get a combination of the Sniper, the Shotgun, and the Long-Lost Uzi (Not really that long gone I suppose),
It's a Shotgun, that can zoom in and you get 10 shots, however each shot does 5 damage!

Yeah, its the one with the picture of the worm pointing right at you. It might be one of the ones which is only on the left hand reel though.

What worm one? The Starburst? Or did he make it so the Worm is the weapon?

Edit: Anyways here's what I did:

Name: THE HOLY SLINKY

Instructions: I edited the Grenade so that it dropped 50 bomblets, (Which where Holy Hand Grenades) and then I tried it out. I threw the Grenade up in the air with a 3 sec fuse, and then instead of the Holy Hand Grenades spreading out, they stayed together in a "tower" form! When they fell to the ground and bounced they looked like a slinky, they all bounced together in a way I don't know how to describe, and the "Tower"/"Slinky" Even got longer and shorter! When they stop bouncing instead of hearing "Hallelujah!" I heard
"Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaleluj alelujahlujah!"

BOOOOOMMMMMM!!!!!

I found a file called "nothing" which I thought meant nakid worm, I switched it with a hat, but it just gave me the red cross symbol through my head :p

I also tried "w4worm" but then it just crashed

As far as I'm aware there isn't one. Any skill with very simple scripting though will probably give you an idea as what to do.

My 1st (sort of) guide:
Making a screenshot:

Get a slash away by //allowscreenshots in default.cfg; Open Default.cfg (in your worms 4: mayhem folder) with Notepad, then remove 1 slash by //allowscreenshots, this is your result: /allowscreenshots
Save it (duh)

Now in-game you have to click on Print Screen (on your keyboard)
Now you have made a screenshot (the screenshot is in your worms 4: mayhem folder)
It is .bmp format ;)

Edit: Got it reinstalled, it's fine now. Hmmm, I think I'll go swap the old woman teeth and glasses round...

Hey guys I have a tweak idea:

Switch the grenade XOM file with the baseball bat XOM to make the worm throw a baseball bat! Also tweak it so it does some damage if it bumps into a worm! I'm going to try that now.....

Edit: Kilburn did that only with the gas grenade and the tail nail hammer. O_o Man he's a genius at tweaking.

Open the folder:
C:\...\Worms 4 Mayhem\data\Tweak
Right click the WeapTwk, and select 'open as'. Choose to open the program with Notepad. Then try figure out what you need to edit.
(Note: it is advised you make a backup copy of all files you try to tweak)

You can also switch some of the .XOM files, and the game objects will also switch.

Hi everyone,

_Kilburn by far your "Giant Laser" (in my opinion) tops it off. Can you shed some light by any chance on how you did that?

Nice jobs by everyone else too :D.

My takes:
-a mine explodes into 2 mines (with the cluster mine, the clusters are mines)
-100 shots shotgun
-huge bubble trouble with inifinite lifespan
-super sheep explodes and 6 normal sheep come out and explode until they hit water
-sheep can explode as many times you desire by just clicking the mouse
-cluster grenade explodes to 44 gas canisters which after poisoning release 44 grenades
-poison arrow shoots out poison and 100 mines
-water goes down instead of up
-very fast and long ninja rope
-2000 fuel jetpack
-huge worm (like plasma's) your secret is safe with me lol
-other things

I have other weapons:

Night Bomb: When it explodes, the screen becomes darker and darker
Sheep Herd: You can set a number of sheeps, between 1 and 5
Fake Health Crate: It looks like a health crate, but in fact it's a mine!
etc... etc...

Yes I also modified WeapTwk.xml. In fact, the Giant laser, is not really a laser, it's just a bazooka which is not affected by gravity, and with this "laser" effect.
The bubbles turn around the worm and hurt everyone who hit them.

You can do almost everything you want with particles. I managed to create a blood effect when you hit a worm with a shotgun. :)

I find it impossible to tweak... am I looking in the wrong place?
I am trying to make the HHG launch more than one at a time.

I go to W4M\data\tweak, and then open WeapTwk.xml (or whatever) with notepad. Then I press CTRL+F and type holy, click find. The result is wrong so I press "Find next", and I get to what appears to be the right place. However, I can't find any tag that looks like it might change the amount of HHGs released in one go.

I try adding those tags in described in the guide. Nothing.

Help, please?

Also, giving the Bovine Blitz 20 shots (or the value I think is shots) crashes the game before frontend...

Sorry for double post, but this is slightly different:

I am quite good at xom switching. Take, for example, plasma's giant worm. Navigate to the \data\Weapons folder, and rename BubbleMachineBubble.xom to BubbleMachineBubbleBU.xom . This is your backup. Then navigate to the \data\Character folder and COPY (don't cut) w4worm.xom . Then paste this into \data\Weapons folder, and rename it to BubbleMachineBubble.xom . Then, start a game in W4M with the Bubble Trouble in it. Use this weapon, then walk out from the centre a bit. Then...BAM! GIANT WORM! Hold E for a better look!

I never switch .xom files, but I try to find their ID, in property PayloadGraphicsResourceID. I found all glasses, hats, etc... So, if you replace Grenade.Payload by Hat.Crown, your worm will throw a crown instead of a grenade.

@Muzer:

<HasAdjustableFuse>false</HasAdjustableFuse>
<HasAdjustableBounce>false</HasAdjustableBounce>
<HasAdjustableHerd>false</HasAdjustableHerd>
<IsAffectedByGravity>true</IsAffectedByGravity>
<IsAffectedByWind>false</IsAffectedByWind>

Set "HasAdjustableHerd" to true, and you will be able to set the number of HHG you want to throw by pressing B during the game. :)

And do you know how to set the number of bullets for Sentry Gun?

Edit: Here is my tweak. There still are some problems, but many weapons are funny and interesting. Enjoy! :) (I hope I'm allowed to do this)

My favourite Weapon Tweak was what I call the 'bouncing bomb'.
All I did was set the bazooka to explode with 1 bazooka cluster,
Then edit the worm and land damage a bit. (I also removed the trail, as it looked bad on this weapon)

Hey _Kilburn and others,

I tried your tweak :D and I must say it was enjoyable. Everything is simple to do (in my opinion), but the ones that really interested me were the bazooka(laser), shotgun(blood effect), dynamite(night), and airstrike(napalm). I will look through the Part/WeapTwk to see how you did it later and hopefully get it lol. One thing I'd like you to try though, I was unsuccessful in doing so is an airstrike that drops crates. I have created a weapon (holy arrow, no, its not an arrow with the power of a hhg) and now im working in a leap utility. But Im having some troubles:

- Do you know how to change the animation of the worm when it launch or use a weapon? (I have tried changing it on the weaptwk, but it dosent change)
- I want the worm to hold nothing when its trowing a granade. How can I do that?
- Have you found any way to change the position of a weapon in the weapon panel or to change his description?

The night bomb should (does) go away after a frew turns
IIRC, the grenade waits for a set number of turns (I can't remember how many) before exploding with huge power and many clusters.

Hi Maunem2 and others,

Simple really, all you do is find the vomit in one of the xml files (open xml file with notepad, etc.) and then if you want, edit the colour of it. Once the desired colour was chosen (in this case red) I copied the vomit name and transfered it to "weaptweak". From there I found shotgun and added the vomit effect to be activated when a worm gets shot.

P.S. - Someone write in the next post where vomit can be found (I think it's in "local"?) and where the vomit should be plugged into the shotgun. I don't remember and I uninstalled the game :p.

another qn i wanted to ask is
if both me and a partner uses the same tweaked files... and i hosted a network game and played with that partner...would it work?
or would i not even pass trying to join the worms network in the first place

I have a problem with my tweaks.
When i tell the dynamite to spawn HHG's on explosion, the camera just goes away VERY long away from land.
I have the same problem if it spawns bananas too.
Also, Can you add weapons in the list?
So i can make cluster granade spawn my own type of cluster?
I mean, is it possible to make a whole new weapon without removing old ones, and use them in the game?

I edited PARTTWK.XML in the tweak folder. No XOM files were harmed in the making of this tweak.:p
Another thing I did which is lots of fun is changing the landmine size to "0", which makes them invisible.

You changed the RGB values in Parttwk, didn't you?

I suggest making the shotgun clouds smaller, so they aren't recognised as clouds.

Also, make the red value 100.

it looks more realistic.

I replaced the clouds with bubbles and got a better effect. Also, I made all the mines blow up on contact, making them really dangerous, but I think real mines are just like that; Can't see them and blow you up right away.

No, HolyHandGrenade is right.
Nothing is going wrong, setting EndTurnImmediate to "true" just doesn't work.
So you can't make a weapon that doesn't end your turn. :(

The mine is just placed and doesn't explode unless it is activated by a worm present. You could set the option in the game scheme if you want the mines to explode in a certain amount of time or at random.

I'm trying to change the RGB values of the holy hand grenade explosions.
I want the ring to be solid yellow. I looked up an RGB chart and it says 255 255 0. When I put this in, it comes out brown.

Any ideas?

In the game, RGB values are decimal, so that 255 will be equal to 1 in the game.
To get yellow you need to mix (I think:-/ ) green and blue, not red and blue. This would be 0,1,1.

When you mix paint colors, they add to each other, but when you do it to colored light, they substract from each other. That's why we get white light from mixing all the colors of the rainbow.

Paint : Blue + Yellow = Green
Light : Green - Blue = Yellow

Here's a tip to get your colouring right, open up MSPaint, and mess around with the colour values. Once you get a colour you like, copy those exact values (rgb) into your tweak. Now play the game. Voila! You now know how to make colours more accurately!

It just doesn't exist. The developpers probably have removed this effect from the game, that's why it crashes.

Hey Kilburn! Can you upload the radium bomb file you made?

You guys ought to try his cluster bomb. My whole group replaced the original permanantly with it. It's not too powerful if you limit it to one and give it a 4 turn delay.

It just doesn't exist. The developpers probably have removed this effect from the game, that's why it crashes.

So, how you did the laser effect (for some gun i seen)? Edited a trail or something?

I was wondering......Is it possible to tweak so all the players(1 player per team) starts his round while the others start it too.So it would be better it think.Can you imagine that......

You mean like, having it be real-time instead of turn based? Uh no that's not possible with tweaks.
And even tough it's technically possible to hack the game to that extent, it would probably be a lot easier to just code a whole new realtime Worms 4 clone.:rolleyes:

My worms 4 mayhem isnt using tweak in tweak folder(weptweak)....I noticed yeterday when i wanted to install kiliburn tweaks..I replaced the file but everything is same as my upppdate.I deleted tweak from tweak folder(and i startyed worms without weptweak) but it was again same.worms woked without that.SO i think my worms 4 mayhem is using a tweak that i dont know where is?Any help here?
And can someone post original tweak here?

i made the bazooka missile explode into 16 cluster grenades.. made cluster grenades explode into 4 holy hand grenades.

16X4= 64.

Hey, a few questions:

1: How do I edit what a weapon counts as? Like I have a weapon that I want to count as clusters when I pull up "double clusters" out of the worm pot. I can't seem to find an entry for it.

2: How do I edit the size of an object? I replaced the xom for a helmet with a sheep. How do I make the sheep bigger? When I open my xom files in notepad I get a bunch of gibberish so that must not be it.

3: I'd replaced my tweaks with Kilburn's parttwk and weaptwk from the backup page he listed to test some of his weapons but it was the regular files. Which files do I need? I've been trying to get his Radium Bomb.

4: Someone posted a picture of worms as hats. What xom is this?

As you can see, the blast power and damage inflicted by the cluster weapons are increased here. Just add or remove what you need.
For example, if you want to consider the bazooka as a cluster weapon that can be upgraded using this Wormpot mode, just add after ApplyWormpotPowerScale("kWeaponBananette",PowerScale) :
ApplyWormpotDamageScale("kWeaponBazooka",DamageScale)
ApplyWormpotPowerScale("kWeaponBazooka",PowerScale)

(this doesn't work online)

2 - As I said before, XOM swapping isn't a safe and handy solution.
Here is a much better solution:
Open data\Tweak\WormsAttachments.xml.
Go to these lines, for example (if you want to replace the afro hat):

<FrontEndMeshID></FrontEndMeshID>

In MeshID, replace Hat.Afro by Sheep.
After the WXFE_WormAttachments block, you should find a sequence of WXFE_AttachmentOffsets blocks. These are the different positions of the hat (that you can change in the game menu by pressing key Left or Right). Change PositionOffset, OrientationOffset and ScaleOffset in one of them to adjust the hat position, rotation and size. ;) (this tweak doesn't work online)

3 - Indeed, these are backups, regular files, in case some of you forgot to make a copy of their original tweaks.

4 - XOM file : data\Character\w4worm.xom
Graphical Resource ID : W4.Worm

It's a bit complicated and tricky. I used 2 particle emitters, one for the laser sight, and one for the beam itself. The laser sight is quite easy to do, make a particle emitter that has the same direction as your worm and emits red dots that go straight forward. Then, just put this particle emitter in HoldParticleFX, in your weapon.

The beam is more tricky. You have to shift a little the collision center of the particles, put a low collision radius that gets increased when the particle gets further (ParticleCollisonRadiusVelocity), so that your worm doesn't get hurt by the beam. Just put this emitter in DetonationFX, make your weapon fire an invisible payload that has a zero lifetime (instant explosion, without damage : set DetonatesOnExpiry to false), and you are done. :)

Well it's not very complicated.

1-In data\Tweak, open MenuTwkX.xml with a text editor.
2-First, search WXFE_TextEditBoxDesc id='WXFE.TeamPage1-1'
3-Put 68 in the property "MaxTextWidthChars" and 600 in the property "MaxTextWidthPixels"
4-Do the same for WXFE_TextEditBoxDesc id='WXFE.TeamPage1-2' to WXFE_TextEditBoxDesc id='WXFE.TeamPage1-6'
5-Search WXFE_TextEditBoxDesc id='WXFEP.NewTeamName-1' and put 72 in the property "MaxTextWidthChars" and 800 in the property "MaxTextWidthPixels"
6-Save

You should be able to write incredibly long names in the team editor. :)
Don't forget to make a copy of your original MenuTwkX.xml, it may be useful if you do a mistake that makes the game crash.

This crashes if you are using a NoDVD.

I've found a fun trick is to replace explosion effects with that ghost worm effect. As worms die, the battlefield becomes increasingly haunted. I'm still playing around with a tweaker program I made to speed the process up. I'll probably stick it on Dream17 some time.

I can't wait To hear about it. I think you did somthing in Tweak.xml but I can't figure it out

IN part twk you can see all effects.Find WXPL_WormsGhost or something similar and open Weptwk.
Now in detonation line in Weptwk delete everything( in line not line)and paste effect.
And kiliburn calm down..we know you can twk(OMG is not nessecary)..

I would send a PM to _Kilburn asking about that. I asked once, and he told me, but, rather sadly, I have forgotten. _Kilburn IS working on a program which is still pretty much in the Alpha stage that does it for you. I've seen a couple of screenies, it looks pretty complete but it's a bit buggy. He's taking a break from it for now, though.

I'm new to tweaking, and I got 2 questions:

-How do I make the Poison Arrow do damage? When I put the WormDamageMagnitude to for example 15, it still doesen't damage the Worm. What other lines do I need to edit?

-I want to replace the standard Grenade with the ''Trooper'' grenade, the one from the weapons factory. First, I don't even know whats this weapon called in Weapons/Custom? Is it object_Bomb or...? Next, I don't know which lines to replace?:confused:

I've replaced the Grenade file in Weapons for object_Bomb in Weapons/Custom. But someone said that it could crash the game... It worked fine to me?!

I don't know because that should have worked. I even did the same thing except with 35 points of damadge and it worked perfectly. if it helps any I also added low land damadge (I wanted the poison to eat up the land) maybe it only works with low land damadge either that or your game is defilcted

EDIT: And, GreeVee, yes. You do have to edit the radius. Make it around 250, thats good.
