Anyone herd from _kilburn lately I havn't seen any new posts or treads done by _kilburn in a while. maybe that database error made him think the site was permanatly broken, or maybe he just moved onto some other site and got bored of this one or he just han't had anything to say.

Don't worry, I've just gone in UK for a week, that's all. :)


-I want to replace the standard Grenade with the ''Trooper'' grenade, the one from the weapons factory. First, I don't even know whats this weapon called in Weapons/Custom? Is it object_Bomb or...? Next, I don't know which lines to replace?:confused:


Find:

<PayloadGraphicsResourceID>Grenade.Payload</PayloadGraphicsResourceID>

and

<WeaponGraphicsResourceID>Grenade.Weapon</WeaponGraphicsResourceID>


Replace both Grenade.Payload and Grenade.Weapon by Factory.Proj.Blaster



I've replaced the Grenade file in Weapons for object_Bomb in Weapons/Custom. But someone said that it could crash the game... It worked fine to me?!

No it doesn't crash the game, but I hate this way, because you can't use the original grenade payload anymore.

Are you going to somehow advertise that site in other ways because i'm very excited on seeing others at that site and posting stuff just like this one. I like the smileys better there more... 3D-ish

No, there isn't. :)





Instead, try to add /TELNET in Default.cfg, run the game, minimize it, open the command prompt (Start -> Run... -> cmd), and type in the black window that should pop up telnet localhost. Press 2 and you should get the list of usable graphical resource IDs. (some of them may make the game crash, though)


And remember to remove /TELNET in Default.cfg, since you can't play online with that.

Couldnt you just open part twk and weptwk to see graphics and weapons playloads of each weapon?

Uh yes for some weapons (like bazooka, grenade, you can see them in WeapTwk)... But some weapons like the custom ones, can't be seen like that (well, I didn't find them).

Just chek out _Kilburn's post above yours.

It's basically
Dynamite explodes > 5 or 4 Grenades pop out and then explode
into Bazooka Rounds>Then explodes to Holy Hand Grenades

I've created a never-ending rain of bananabombs you simply edit that bannanettes have bananabomb bomblets (like 10) and sit back and enjoy the fireworks =D

cool, I gotta try that sometime. does anyone know why the clusters pieces are in another area then the weapon itself such as the banana bomb, the clusters are put somewere else and are titled "bannanettes". it seems a little weird.

CLuster and clusters arent same weapon.After cluster explodes cluster bomb is loaded and does what it is porgrammed to do.Same like banana bomb....SO they are not same weapons the bombs are just loaded on the end of cluster,banana (explosion).

I'm pretty sure you find it in the Local.xml, but, I may be wrong. Look for the name of one of the preset weapons, like A Few Problems or something. If you find it, you should be able to edit it there.

No, unfortunately, you can't manipulate the weapon models. :(

There may be a way actually, since you can stick scopes on team weapons, but I don't know how to do it. I think it's not possible with regular weapons.

I managed to get 16 worms in a team, but then, I couldn't have more than 16 worms on the land. Even by modifying stdvs.lua, adding new worms data containers in Local.xml.

is it possible to tweak wormpot and add Effects to it? if not then is it possible to change the effects that are already there?

one last question: I've heard that it's possible to add game tweak more game modes like making a training map. If this is possible then how do you do it?:confused:

For both questions, I'll answer "You need enough Lua understanding skills to modify the mission and gamemodes scripts without any documentation about the library used to write them" (since it doesn't exist)

If you want to learn Lua, it's over there (http://www.lua.org).
If you want to modify the deathmatch game mode (it's the easiest one), find scripts\stdvs.lua
I managed to do a grenade training for Worms 4, with targets. The one who destroys more targets than the other after a set amout of time wins.

Well, for the wormpot, it's pretty the same thing. Take a look at Wormpot.lua. I remember you can modify some stuff in it, but since I was not interested in it, I assume you can't modify really exciting things.
