Foolishly, I decided to install Ubuntu 10.10 :ugeek: onto my pathetic laptop. Big mistake. No visual (compiz) effects, even though my graphics card can support them (just about). I decided to put themes on it to make it look as close to Mac OS X (Leopard). It does look quite good, however the graphics card is so bad, and I only have 512MB of RAM, it is rather slow and keeps messing up visually. Anyhow;

File comment: An example of a window. Funnily enough, even though 10.10 has the buttons on the left by default, I am not sure how to move them with the theme.

Actually, you can get Compiz Effects if you install the NVidia drivers. But really, don't use Ubuntu as your base distribution if you want to make it look like Mac OS X, use something simpler like Gentoo or Arch Linux. Then you can build it from the ground up.

I wouldn't call 'from the ground up' simple.

It takes ages. (most) People want an OS to be as out-of-the-box as possible.

I can just uninstall programs I don't want, and it saves a lot of time.

It's exactly the same. In Ubuntu you uninstall programs. In Arch you install programs :P
