I've made a mini-site dedicated to Mario Kart emblems:

Link (http://vader.wurmz.net/mariokart/)

Check it out and please feel free to contribute. Even if you don't own Mario Kart DS, why not try out your limited palette pixel art skills? ;)

Attached emblems you'd like on the page to this thread. Please use the template provided or it won't be included.

It's not the prettiest site on the 'net but I've been messing with CSS and thought I'd try something new.

Enjoy!

I don't have the game, but it seemed like a good way to spend time while I waited for my download to finnish..

Nice work. :)

I've added them and a couple a mate at work did. If I can add a few a day I'll have to consider writing a database for the images within a couple of weeks!

Wasn't there an emblem editor already lying around somewhere?

Still, nice stuff. You might also consider writing an uploader while you're at it. :p

Good idea - one which is beyond my ability for now. :(

Oh god wacky wheels.

That reminds me of all those other old Windows games... like MICRO MAN!

http://www.marcianitos.org/misc/juegospc/wackywheels-caixa.jpgOhhhh, I might just take you on that. What exactly do you want emblems of?

I don't actually have Mario Kart or a DS, but go ahead anyway.

I have thought about all the selectable characters in their go-karts as they appear in-game, all the various pickups & projectiles (hedgehogs, fire, icecube,...), the nagging devils and maybe one with the two "W"s or the wheels from the logo.
Oh, and don't forget the ducks from the single-player shoot-outs.

Phil's Wacky Wheels page has lots of images.

Something tells me that with the emblem's available colour palette, you'd have one hell of a time getting any accurate portrayals of most of those characters. Even with Animal Crossing's selection of other palettes, it'd likely be a challenge.

I know a nice, simple assortment of colours in a predefined palette saves the effort of browsing through a thousand colour choices and makes things more standardized, but even I hate the limits of the selection sometimes.

I think the size boundries are much more of a limit than the few colors.

But yeah, it is a pretty crappy pallete. At least you should have a light/dark shade for every color.

Anyways, I did a Wacky Wheels Helmet Duck. It's just a recolouring of the original. :p

Btw, the red square in the pallete is anti-aliased.

Oh yeah... d'oh!

I'll fix it when I get home. I'm not home at the minute and don't have access to my webspace from here. :p

Good work on the emblem, though. I'll add that when I get home, too.
