Have you guys reduced it? :-/ I've been trying to kill with it but no luck so far :p

I've noticed this too. Cluster Bomb caused a damage of 15 per shard some weeks ago, but now (maybe after Thanksgiving theme) they're causing 10 damage instead.

and there goes my favorite weapon... Disappointment's are coming one after another! If you want money so badly, then go live, introduce more players and you'll get more potential donators, instead of killing all the fun this game had...

I disliked this change. It was a semi-banana bomb before, there was a chance of killing a worm if all the shards exploded on it. Now there's no chance of this occurs even if the target were in a hole.

Hey guys, sorry for the disappointment that has occurred with this change. We're busy working hard getting the game ready for live and part of this is balancing the weapons. Looking back at the weapons comparing them to the other Worms games, we noticed that the Cluster Bomb in Facebook was a little bit too powerful, hence why we toned it down a bit.

I understand that this has caused some frustrations, but ultimately it should result in a better, more balanced game.

Don't forget we've got lots of new weapons lined up and release more with each event; Halloween had 4, Thanksgiving had 2, Xmas has....whoops, said to much! ;)

I just have a strong feeling new changes are made so that people start buying more coins, otherwise, they stuck in TG tasks and cant make progress for days :\
And cluster was cheapest way to kill opposite worm and earn extra coins (in right cnditions and if know how), now that's gone too :(
And anther problem is when you bring new event, all other tasks that gives weapons & coins & xp, are disabled. It would be nice if we could, like in some other FB games, cycle through all available tasks and do them simultaneously?

Fair comments Towelie, thanks for sharing your thoughts. :) I'll go through them here so we can keep it all on one thread.

1. Some of the tasks are designed to last a long time. If the tasks were very easy to complete the game itself might get boring as players would run out of tasks too quick! Admittedly, some of the tasks might have been slightly too long, but we always look through them and seek fan's reactions before we commit to any changes. We did listen to the players and change the amount needed to complete the Corn Cannon task!

2. The Cluster bomb being altered was a shame, but, we feel, also necessary to the game. Remember the game is still in Closed Beta so we do reserve the right to alter anything that we see fit. In this instance it happened to be that the Cluster bomb was too powerful compared to the other weapons.

3. Excellent point about the tasks system And cycling through. I will forward this to the designers.

4. In regards to your other post at "http://forum.team17.co.uk/showpost.php...98&postcount=4", please bare with us when it comes to adding new content. This is a new ground for the Worms franchise and it's a massive learning curve when it comes to releasing the content. As always, we listen to comments and will be shaping the future content based on fan feedback.

I don't use the Cluster bomb as much, so it took me some time to notice the damage had changed.

As I understand it was a cheap weapon and the easiest way to kill a worm, but it required some very specific circunstances to work, so it was not breaking the game. I don't feel the nerfing was really necessary, but I'll believe Team17's judgement on this one.

As for the Thanksgiving weapons, I remember saying somewhere that the Corn Cannon was very expensive for what it did (a little more damage than the holy hand granade, but far less useful as it needs a clear view of the target and it's impossible to determine where the fragments will go; also, it won't destroy much land).

The Horn of Fodder, however, I believe has a good pricing. I've seen times where it could dig a gigantic hole in the map and deal lots of damage. It's a little difficult to run from it after positioning it, but it's very fun and useful, at least in my opinion.

And I have to agree with Towelie about the Task cycling. I remember having 2~3 tasks at a time and now I have only one.

It's ok, I don't have anything against some longer tasks, just want to do some others besides to earn some quick bonuses here ad there :)

Cluster bomb has been way underpowered now! If I remember correctly, it was doing 30 base dmg + 15 on shards which was 105 total. In some occasions you could kill enemy worm, but in most it did great dmg (50+, 30 base, 1 direct shard 15 and one near shard ~10) and was pretty great for softening opposite worm before finishing it off next turn!
Now it does 10 base dmg (?) + 10 on shards, which is 60 max, and mostly is worst than a grenade (does below 30 dmg, 10 base, 10 on direct shard and ~5 near shard), which makes it useless!

And about that post I made, well it was mostly about corn cannon frustrations :) That other TG weapon is pretty good for the price, still, more realistic price for corn cannon should be 870? And as i said, as innovations, both weapons are damn great and you guys deserve big credit for them!

I understand that game should make profit and have some thoughts which would also put here..
First it should be based on things that doesn't affect game much (weapons)? But to make up for that, go for some hats and such. It wont affect game between 2 random players much, tho one that payed for its hat would benefit in his own game, earning more XP and coins :) And current hat bonuses, as I stated before in another thread, are little imbalanced... Simply, coin worth hats should not be better than cash worth ones? Also some cool looking hats like present roman's and knight helm's, warlock and cop hats are nice way to earn moneys :)
Then also some new good (and expensive) battle themes, gravestones and those new top secret thing's you'r announcing ;)

P.S. Till few weeks ago, while checking inventory, in hats tab, I clicked that green arrow and it said: "coming soon"? :P Can't see it now tho..

That's interesting about the Corn Cannon. On the surface it might seem a bit underpowered compared to the HoF but when it's used in a certain way, it can one-shot a 100HP worm :O

Yesterday I got the task "Stick to your guns" requiring me to kill 7 worms with the cluster bomb... and it's proving itself quite a challenge. I have killed only 2 so far, and both times there were more reliable weapons to do the job... I'm starting to think the depowering was exaggerated. I don't see myself buying any cluster bombs after I finish the task, it is now the worse weapon available... :/. Towelie is right, the regular grenade is better than it now.

Also, I've been noticing for a while that the behavior of banana/cluster bombs' fragments seem to have changed as well. The banana sometimes will seem like a miss, but will hit, and the opposite goes for the cluster (it will seem like a hit, but it'll miss). Is it just my impression?

I must agree that Cluster Bomb was a bit more powerful than in the previous game it was found, but in the Worms Facebook universe it was okay in my view and in spite of you could kill a worm in one hit, this rarely was going to occur unless under some circustances. So reducing Cluster Bomb power made it one of the most crappy weapons to kill and damage worms. Accomplishing tasks that involve its use have also became harder to do as well.

Seems fair to me, since it was somewhat powerfull, depending on situations and skill's, and extremelly fun to use! Now it sucks and its totally useless! :(

Nice idea, Towelie. Maybe it could cost the same of Shotgun, 550 coins. ^^

Came here to say the same, it's totally useless now =/
When you hit any worm it takes around 20~30 damage now, before it was taking around 50~60, without getting all shards =S
