Worms 2 gameplay error

Hey guys,

I used to be top of the BnG ladder back in the day. Recently started thinking about how I was so into Worms 2 so I decided to download it. At first, I could get the start screen and the video but then it could crash. So, I downloaded the North American patch, not sure what one it is... Filename is Worms2Patch005NA.exe.

Anyway, that's all fine and dandy. I'm able to get in and play a game against the computer but when I click to play a game using the button in the middle of the screen, I get an error that says 'an unnamed file was not found'. Been looking all over your forums for the answer to this question.

Anyone have any help they can offer? Just wanna get back online, yo'!

I am having the same problem and I got Worms 2 from gog.com, so I'm assuming that's where he got it from.

I bought this game from GOG too and had the same error.
After 5 minutes of googling and logical thinking I managed to solve this problem.
This solution is for Win 7 (64 bit but might work for 32 also).
Apparently the installer fails to give the used enough permissions to certain files that are required for succesfully running of the game.

To fix this, go to the properties -section of you Worms 2 folder. Go to the "security" tab and click Edit -button. Choose your profile (should be something like "users [the name of your account here]"), tick the box "full control", click apply and you're done.

FYI, the GOG.com version of Worms 2 does NOT have network multiplayer.
Only single player and hotseat is available.
Multiplayer notice: In this version of Worms 2, the only multiplayer option available is hotseat.
