Guys i just started getting this error! .. I was playing fine last night then tonight trying to play with the same mates now all i get is "Loading...Please wait" ... They say as soon as i quit the game it loads and they play fine!
Anybody got any ideas as to what could have gone wrong?

Have you tried validating your install?
Yip, verified the integrity of the game cash & defragmented the cash files, Ive also tried a full uninstall/re-install.
Still no joy.
Joining a random network game it seems sometimes neither of us can see each others build lit up in the lobby! ... If i exit and rejoin a lobby a couple of times the sometimes we can manage to get the bulbs lit but then we/i am hit with the "Loading...Please wait" ... Again i have to Ctrl, Alt & Del out and quit the game!
I only bought the game a couple of weeks ago to play with some mates, I have managed to play maybe 4 games online.
I emailed Team 17 support on May 4th ... Still awaiting a reply!

You might want to consider posting on the Team17 Facebook page.

I couldnt make a server the other night aswell.
Glad its not just me .
In the process of creating a game does it talk back to some DRM server/server with team17 or value to tripple/double check we can create the game ? After verifying the game is legit on steam ?
This hassle wouldnt appear if we had a proper client - server hosting game method with a server browser and old style creation of games instead of the new crap cheap nasty "match making" style of game creation .
Just tested it again with another person at 7:40 PM QLD/AU time (GMT+10) today at 17-May , doesnt work
Player joins , hits ready and it locks up for him , but shows unready at my end.
Any ETA on Worms Reloaded getting Patched or this issue addressed ?

this is happening to me and everyone i've spoken to who has reloaded. There are also a lot of posts stacking up on steam forums...
With regards to the screenshot, if you're the person with the unlit bulb, from your perspective, you will see "downloading gamestyle" as the scheme, and your bulb will light clientside but freeze if you click ready.

Found one thread on steam , Im suprised more people are not raging they cant play. http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2704689
What I cant understand is match making is peer2peer not a proper client - server method , so WHY IS IT BROKEN ?
The only thing I can think of is , the process of reading up contacts some sort of Team 17 hosted master server for authorization or validation , yet Steam and its DRM should re check it every time you load the game
If anything shows why Worms Reloaded and Worms Revolution needs a proper server-client hosting method seperate from team 17 servers and not match making and with a proper creation/server browser list , this would reinforce it

well to be fair i think both methods require a master server somewhere, whether it's steam or team17 (not too sure about p2p but i think some data is sent somewhere)

Peer2peer gaming hosting should never use a master server,
otherwise its client-server .
I could be wrong but Ive played a lot of PC games over the years
(1990 to now)
After the fix it , I would really like to see it changed in a patch down the track so
it doesnt happen again and an introduction of a proper multiplayer system for reloaded
then the current limited one
So what's the issue? There must be some server not working properly, that's the only explanation that makes sense I guess.
Update - This seems to be a general Steam issue and there are other games suffering from similar problems (i.e Civilisation V), the Steam devs are currently looking into the issue.

But no Solution until now?
Damn.. just want to play Worms! -.-°
There has been an update to the Steam client which fixes an issue with P2P networking. You should try it out and see if it helps.

Hi all, just to let you know that the multiplayer issues with Worms Reloaded have now been fixed by Valve with an update to the Steam Client.
To apply the update, click the Steam menu inside of Steam and then select "Check for Steam Client Updates...".
Thank you.

i'm still experiencing this error. in every multiplayer game i try to join :(
edit1:
when i try to update steam, it says it's already up to date, and when i view my steam version info it says:
Built: Jun 15 2012, at 17:17:38
Steam API: v012
Steam Package versions: 1911/1911
edit 2:
when i check the game's proterties in steam, it says "disk usage: 1489 Mb"
but when i was downloading it, it listed around 3.3 GB. which was weird, because my download finished way faster than 3.3GB should have taken
me.
also, the official steam store page for worms reloaded says (under requirements): Hard Drive: 2063MB
but then again, when i check the properties of the worms reloaded folder, windows tells me it's 3.31GB
edit3:
just bought the game of the year dlc pack. thought that might help. now the disk usage is up to 1534 Mb. still doesn't work though.
by the way, i'm always getting this error (stuck at "loading... please wait") when joining someone's game and they start it. when i try to host, though, it just doesn't let me start the game, because the game doesn't recognize the other players as ready (their light bulbs stay dark). i specifically bought this game to play it with my friends, seems like i wasted 26€ :(
sorry i'm editing my post so often, but otherwise my posts would have to wait for moderation :/

my steam client ? yeah, it's up to date. i also tried deleting my steam folder except for the steam.exe and the SteamApps folder. didn't help.
edit: FINALLY got it to work. i had to set my MTU to 1492 (or 1500). this helped me, under "Setting MTU" www.speedguide.net/articles/windows-7-vista-2008-tweaks-2574
