Hey guys, I'm disappointed at this game. And I'll tell you exactly why.
Annoyance #1 (The biggest pain in the ass ever - There is no manual spawn option / Tactical Worm Positioning)
When you play against friends or online, or anything in that matter, your worms are spawned randomly, this means, of course, that the whole strategy of the game (since it's turn based) gets unbalanced. And obviously, turns out to not be competitive to that point. You could as well give every player 100 Banana Bombs at "random-spawn-of-unbalanced-doom" just to make it even more unbalanced. And NO manual spawn option even for the Forts modes? Are you freaking kidding me? - This is to say, this game is pretty much based on turn based luck to that point, or whoever gets each other's worms drowning at the best way presented to you. And to be completely honest, that is not what I like about the Worms titles, I like the strategy of the game. In this case the strategy gets dumbed down into whoever is the most lucky with their automatic-random-spawn positions at game start.
Forts example:
-Match Start-
(Your spawn positions)
3 of your worms spawn at the edge of your fort, close to the water, "conveniently" for you; they are also surrounded by mines and oil drums. Oh, what do we have here? - YAY 1 of your worms are placed to your advantage, far away from the 1-hit-kill radius.
(Other player's spawn positions)
4 worms spawned behind a huge amount of terrain, blocking ANY of your available weaponry to do them ANY harm what-so-ever.
And guess what...? He gets to start as well, he launches his bazooka at your 3 worms, which are obviously a easy 1-hit-kill. BOOM, all 3 worms receive 180 HP loss(OverKill)- drops into the water and drowns, you now have a total of 1 worm left on your fort, (at your first turn).
Now, let's be honest; DO YOU- think this is fair? DO YOU- think this is how the game should be? - I seriously doubt that anyone thinks that this is how the game should be, so please give everyone the option to place our worms out strategically at the start of a match. I doubt this is too much to ask for as well, as I've seen this and used this in other Worms titles, and I always used this method when I played. I see no reason why it should be, in my perspective; "Removed" from this title. Seriously, this is my biggest annoyance of this game, it would just make this game complete; to be able to place your worms strategically at the start of a match.
Annoyance #2 (This one is not that big, but you should understand this one crystal clear)
Forts Pro example:
Right, so you decide to make your new worm team, everything works out perfectly ... Until you select a "Forts Pro" fort. So you choose "Cottage" as your fort (Apply Changes and Exit), you proceed to play against the CPU (Selecting Forts Pro- obviously), just to check how the fort looks like. You are expecting some type of "cottage" as your new fort, so the game loads up, and what do we have here? - Jungle Tree? Wow amazing, just amazing. Is this supposed to be a joke or something? Why isn't this Pro Fort named "Jungle Tree" when obviously that is what it is? And also, same with Forts Pro "Pagoda" which is the "Sea Monster" normal fort. This does not make any sense what-so-ever to me. Also, then you decide to choose another Forts Pro fort, and you choose "Turret" and it gives you "Arabian Nights" fort? - I mean, come'on, fix this please. (PS3 issue- Straight from my personal 100% accurate experience)
Minor issue from day one of playing, although I understand why it is like this:
Backflip roping no longer works, as this is a new title, that was kinda expected to be removed. Not going to whine about it, although it did annoy me the first day.
Thanks for reading, hope the administrator takes a look at this, and hopefully the developers can see this, to make the game more enjoyable. At this point, "Annoyance #1" is the biggest threat to this game, please give us manual "tactical placement" of our worms at the start of a match. I expected that to be in the game before I bought it, and I see no reason why it shouldn't be in the game. Again, thanks for reading. :D
(Just going to lay this out here before I move on to other games);
BIG EDIT:
?! BRING CUSTOMIZED MODES ONLINE ?!
(...Wait...What...?)
That's right, the best thing that can ever happen to any Worms title is to have as much customization in the gameplay as possible, AND the ability to bring it ONLINE - Without having to add every ID to your friends list just so you can play against human players online. What I'm basically saying is that we should be able to customize our modes- AND bring them online to play against anyone that are available at that time (whenever you are lonely "Without friends available in your list").
Hopefully, Team17 can work out an agreement to the console assembly. In a way that we can have a much greater- and much more accessible "Server Lobby" in a way that you can host customized modes and even name them, so that they would show up in the Server Lobby when it's searched.
This would make "Worms 2: Armageddon" a lot better. Thanks for reading.
