View Full Version : [PS3] Online private matches do not work.
Been trying for a good half hour now with three of us and nothing will work whatsoever. Paid £10 for this ****, not impressed.
With two of us it works fine, and two people can connect to it perfectly fine, try to get a third person in and it just ****s up every time.
They get the connecting screen and can even talk to us, but can never get in the lobby.
Any possibility of a fix for this? I don't understand how a game can be released with such a key feature simply not working.
Not tried any other online modes so I can't comment on that, bought it to play private matches with three of us, can we play it? Can we ****.
So we've just tried it again and it isn't a problem with our connection, it's a problem with the game.
Has no-one else came across this? It seems ridiculous that you can release a game with four player online advertised, when we can't simply get in a lobby with three of us?!

I enjoy worms ALOT, I love the fact they now have it on the PS3 but the fact that this is such a blatant problem worries me. How could this not have been picked up on during testing???
I have 3 other friends who all enjoy worms, we like Worms Mayhem, but the fact that we can't play together online completely ruins it!! I know for a fact that it has nothing to do with our connection because aside from being perfectly fine in other games, we have all tried hosting but this same problem occurs time and again!
I'm surprised there aren't more threads about this (at least no posts that I can find) because its such a stupid error. I do hope that they patch it. Although most of the help pages seem to be based around the PC version so I'm not holding out much hope... :\

The exact same thing as us, we all spent an entire night trying to get it to work to no prevail. Then we tried again last week. And we all tried searching online for a fix but no-one else seemed to have posted anything, and any threads were all about the PC version. It just feels like we've been shafted, massively
Me and my friend tried to play on a private match... And guess what happens?
When he hosts:
I can join his lobby, we ready up, and voilą he gets booted from his own lobby. To me it shows a message of "Migrating to host blah blah" some kind of stupid networking function which doesn't work to it's fullest potential?
When I host:
He joins my lobby, we ready up, the game starts, after round 2 we are both booted from the game. (Session no longer available). We have tried this with different maps and it always booted on round 2.
Conclusion:
Worms Ultimate Mayhem is even more messed up than Worms 2: Armageddon. I have already played Worms 3D to death on the PC and I never experienced such a problem on the PC. But hey, I download Worms titles on the PS3 and they are all messed up? This is not good, not good at all.
Please fix this game, it's seriously broken. A broken game should not be sold for that much money. The price should be halved from what it is right now just because of this issue in my opinion. I'm not going to buy another Worms title on the PS3 because both of them have huge issues. Worms 2: Armageddon and Worms Ultimate Mayhem needs a huge amount of attention right now from the developers (Team17) or it's going to die extremely fast. And I doubt anyone who experience all these problems will want to buy another Worms title on a console after all these issues showing up constantly. Thanks for reading.
Edit:
We believe this issue is caused by "faulty" transferring and receiving game packet information back and forth between both parts. We are both extremely experienced gamers and we should be able to detect such issues with games which are obvious to us. So do not try to blame our connection compared to the game mechanics; This is a problem caused by the way the game is programmed to function. It is in no way our fault that this is not working the way it's intended to. So please do not tell us to fiddle around with our networks, it's pointless to even point that out, the game should not be broken or cause any misfortune to players.
We encourage you (Team17) to take a in-depth look at the PS3 version of "Worms Ultimate Mayhem" with different connection strengths, and discuss the issues with the person which programmed the functions within the networking system. It is indeed a big issue, and I would be happy to know that you guys (Team17) are at least checking this out to eventually improve this issue, such as it would be close to non-existent for our own experience.
Thanks for reading the edit.
