3 player multiplayer, 2 machines. ps3

cant figure out how to play a 3 team online game against my two friends who are using one machine. Example is; me with one team on my machine and them two with a team each on another machine via psn.

This is the whole reason i bought it

So 2 vs 2? You can only do that on Forts matches.

I'm after a 3 team free for all but 2 two of the teams are in one city using one ps3 machine and and the other team is in another city using 1 machine. I want two people to be able to share a machine and pad over the PSN.
apparently it can be done on the xbox.

Ohhh, never done it before but it should be doable. Both versions are the same, if its in the Xbox version it'll be in the PS version.
