Hello a bit of a rant:
Just finished a homelands match with 7 more cumulative health than i started, ie 407 and i was almost sick with rage.

My friend was getting picked on from the start and was in last place, sure i shot him as well with my second shot but he had full health at that time. I have also been on the receiving end of been blown apart by players teaming up.

The only person who went for me was him, i literally just had to sit back and i would have won. What, do people think just because i can take them out with one shot, i will leave them alone if they do not attack me ?!?!?

People are so desperate not to loose it is sickening. Team 17 need to promote going for the leading team(s), so everyone has a good game. More so than the loading screen tip that states go for the leader.

These games needs a mandatory message as soon as the game is loaded stating go for the leader(s).

Patches are needed (for all worms games) to protect players with 150+ less heath than the next closest player so that any damage done to them is at least halved, and/or drowned/dead worms are resurrected with 50% of their previous health.

This is not a perfect world and these games show that human nature is to pick on the weakest person, or at best, do anything not to come last.

I want to have a close game to the very end, then i don't care at all if i win or loose.

I doubt many veterans here reading this need me to explain it, as they already know the benefits of attacking the leaders, or spreading damage around as much as possible, but for fairness and fun this has got to be addressed.

If no one attacks the leader they WILL win DUH.
Just give it to them on a plate,
WAIT don't even turn the game on!!
Yes a bit much i know, but it just seems to get worse, but this is worms not friggen K/D ratio obsessed COD, is it?

At the risk of looking like I'm playing the devil's advocate... it's a feature!

Free for all matches (as opposed to 1v1 and team ones) are never going to be a fair representation of skill anyway, so why not spice them up with mind games and temporary alliances? The puppet master strategy (http://wormopedia.worms2d.info/Puppet_Master), endorsed by Team17 themselves, wouldn't be possible to the same extent under the arbitrary rules that you propose. Not to mention having weapons do less damage under some circumstances could turn out to be extremely confusing for the casual players who don't (want to) pay too much attention.

but this is worms

That's right! The strong crush the weak, it's a worm-eat-worm world. War isn't a tea party! Get cracking and tear the enemy apart, no time for idle whining.

It's simple maths. The less worms the enemy has, the better chances you have, so it's worth more killing the worms that are already weakened then simply damaging the rest.

If you're getting the short end of the stick then you're clearly doing a bad job at damaging your enemy enough to make them the attractive target.
