View Full Version : Time Attack Challenges?

I noticed certain time limits for each mission that unlock an extra 35 credits if completed. Since some of them are quite challenging I wanted to know if I need to complete every in order to unlock every achievement & every in-game item? Or don't they unlock anything (apart from extra credits that can be achieved by replaying each mission several times as well)?

I don't think they unlock anything apart from coins and a leaderboard score. I have no interest in completing them, they are too frustrating.
if its the same as Worms 4... you'll need to complete these bonus times as well as a bunch of other stuff, to unlock the "Kitchen Sink" game style
edit: i confirmed this isn't the case... the bonus times on the story missions do NOT need to be completed to unlock any achievements
Beating all the Team17 times for campaign missions unlocks a set of items, and beating the times for the challenges unlocks another (or was it two? One for challenges and one for deathmatches? I can't remember)
At least, that's what it was for Worms4. WUM might have mixed it up a bit, but it should still work about the same.

Okay thanks for the info. I'm not looking forward to this...

In w4m, beating the mission times gave the Alien set, so not sure what it will do now, other than kitchen sink.
Beating the challenge times gives the Dino set in WUM.
you need to beat the Team17 times on all of the challenges, but you do not have to beat the bonus times on the missions for any of the achievements, anyways... i'm sure it unlocks something, but not an achievement... on Worms 4 you had to beat those times to get the "Kitchen Sink" style but not on xbl
i made an achievement guide here

Okay thanks for the info. But the challenge times are pretty hard and I'm bad at jetpacking, supersheeping and ikarusing :(

I saw you in a game just earlier, very sad with the achievements, you must have way too much time on your hands.
And considering how many challenges and deathmatches there are the points for that achievement are low as hell.

You're f***ing kidding me. Jetpacking, gun aiming, super sheeping are terrible on this game and need a lot of work. They don't work in 3D. Getting this achievement is going to be the end of me.

Well, the challenge maps are a good place to start, and I found them fairly easy to work with. The only one that gave me trouble was the Icarus Potion one. I thought those maps were supposed to unlock after you beat them though? I haven't seen a single one yet in the store.

They might be a bit easyer to practise if i could click restart and try again rather than click restart and inpatiently wait 5 minutes for it to reload. Or if i am too late to the restart button it spends five minutes sending me to the menu so that i can spend an extra five minutes getting back onto the level.

Load Times
You on XBL or PC?
Edit: Nvm, I saw on another thread you're on xbox, well then to practice, make a custom scheme with unlimited items for what you need to work on, and practice that way.
i played worms 4 a ton so i guess it came in handy... the only challenge i struggled with was deathmatch 9... that one had me frustrated trying to beat it in 10 minutes
