Hosorrow

If you don't want to read the boring introduction speech, just skip to the bottom where it says To Get to the Point.
My mother bought me a copy of Worms World Party for the Playstation back in 2002 on my 13th birthday. Back then I lived with my brother and my father. My brother and I had several friends who we would hang out with on a daily basis with back then. We played WWP for hours on end. We each had our own teams, our own favorite worms, and favorite memories from those times. It was some of the best times of my life.
The point is, I grew up playing this game with my friends. I have a lot of nostalgia from this game. I played this game for years on the playstation before I ever knew there was a PC version at all.
Recently, after about 3 years of not having the game anymore, I had a nostalgic moment and bought the PSX version again. After playing it for a couple weeks, it's still as great as it ever was. At this point, I've known about the PC version for a few years and have played it on a friends computer a few times. I knew how much more it had to offer than the PSX version so I decided to buy it too.
To Get to the Point
I dislike the controls configuration with a passion.
Hitting enter to jump while your moving keys are cramped right next to it is the dumbest idea. Then there is the fact that I have this natural impulse to hit Spacebar for Jump when it's for firing your weapon.
I wish to set my hotkeys like so.
Fire: 0 [Zero]
This is conveniently located right next to your moving keys.
Jump: Spacebar
Not only is it not as cramped as before, but that impulse to hit it to jump isn't going to get you killed anymore.
Other than that the controls seem fine. Backspace for the backflip is fine by me.
So is it possible to do this SOMEHOW? I've googled it for awhile now and it's either a No, the person attempts to give them an alternate solution to the problem, or they flame them and tell them the controls are fine.
If Team17 says there isn't a possible way, I'll accept that, but for such a simple game, I would be surprised if there wasn't SOME way you could do it, whether it be altering the game files or using an outside program to mod it.
I understand that modding the game is probably strictly discouraged though.
I just can't help but not have fun playing it because the controls are so lame.
