See title. Running Windows 7 Ultimate, NVIDIA Drivers are updated, tried running in compatibility modes. No UAC, etc.

It's worked sometimes, but usually not. The loading disk just stops an eight of the way through and the game freezes. Seems to happen only online.

There's a CRASH.DMP in my WA folder, but I don't seem to have software that can view it.

The ERRORLOG says Vista because that's the last compatibility I tried it with.

Oh, also, this IS a legit US version of the game, off the CD. I've owned it for 7 years, and just reinstalled it after a couple year hiatus.

The game seems to be crashing when loading data from the CD. Is your CD in good condition?

It's seen better days... There aren't any DEEP scratches, but it's definitely not a polished look. Do I need to buy a new copy?

I guess so. Consider creating a CD image (http://worms2d.info/Running_WA_without_the_CD) when you have a fully-readable CD.

It's a good idea to replace your CD of course, but before throwing out your old CD, you should know there are many ways to attempt to salvage it, including the toothpaste method (http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/56005-repair-scratched-cd/), wax, and shoe polish. Reading the linked thread, this wikihow article (http://www.wikihow.com/Fix-a-Scratched-CD), and/or googling "repair CD" might give you some interesting ideas to explore. Good luck! :)

Even just trying to create a virtual image of the disc could result in a functioning copy. It has been known to happen before, since such software usually comes with error correction capabilities.

Alternatively, it'll just get stuck and give you a 2 month estimate of when the task will finish. :(

Additionally, it may be legal in your jurisdiction to acquire a back-up copy through alternate means if you own the license, i.e. an original CD, as long as you do not (non-trivially) circumvent any copy protection systems, i.e. cracking.
That's the case here in Austria at least.

In Germany, too :p
