View Full Version : Hackers?
Well this is what I observated. Tuesday, March 22nd. SirTurboT is ranked first in Deathmatch, Worms Battle Islands PSP, everything's fine.
Wednesday, March 23rd. A player that definitely wasn't even in the Top Ten yesterday, "Dazzy", passed Turbo-T.
So there are three possibilities:
* The suspected cheater played all night and day to get there, the lack of players online alone should make that a pretty much impossible plan.
* They got an additional PSP (or a friend's one) and used it to push themselves up the leaderboards.
* HACK0RZ!!
Whatever the reason may be, there's definitely something fishy going on here...
In addition, what I also wanted to know: The leaderboards are riddled with players called "Puppyforce". Not only the PSP version, but also on the Wii leaderboards. What the heck is that supposed to mean?

Hi Thurbo,
you must be blind!
Dazzy plays often, I played many games with him.
He was long in the Top Ten and today he kicks me to Position 2.
And on the PSP there were always people online to play.
Maybe you have to wait about 5 min. but thats ok.
Still no hackers on the PSP, and thats good!
Um... thing is, when I went online the first time, I saw you had a real lot of points more than the runner-ups. Is it really possible to gain so darn many points in that short amount of time? Especially since there's always like zero players when I go online in Battle Islands? It would take you a lifetime of waiting. Who's got so much spare time, for god's sake?
Well sorry then. I still don't understand how some people apparently manage to play these games all the day long. Because this is what the rankings are: They show how often people play, not how good they are in the first place. :(
I'm still curious about all these Puppyforces tho.
Yeah, these cheaters in the Racing mode don't allow me to have my 1st place.:( So I'm third (ZtepZ). There are also a lot of emulators for PC, which they could use, not just a physical psp, etc. This really sucks! And quitters too - too easy to quit on the PSP. There should be some system I think, but it's a bit hard to do. Do you remember the Worms Armageddon in 2002, where they abolished ranks cause of cheaters. Really bad.
I got W:A quite some time after rankings were abandoned and had been confused about the badge next to my name, staying bronze forever, all day, all night :p
Quitters sure are annoying. I don't actually care if they get punished for quitting or not, but I'd really like to get some well-deserved points if someone quits on me. You know, just to have the feeling not to have wasted another quarter-hour of your pathetic life ;)
Puppyforce was the Team17 teams when it was in development :)

and Puppyarse and so on..., You are funny guys :D
But why the hell are our usernames from Open Warfare 2 not available, especially Turbo-T in my case???
Did Team 17 use all the profiles from OW2?
Next points are:
1.:
Why isnīt it possible to use the customized chat phrases in ranked an other modes? Only friend matches will allow, this sucks!!! The fun was the own phrases, much charme from OW2 are gone, is it possible for Team17 to open the chat phrases for all modes?
2.:
Customize everything (from the Team17 youtube video) isnīt possible, see the upper chat problem and also the flags! In OW2 you can paint your own flag, great! So I can use the german flag, if I paint it, not possible in the "Customize Everythign game" Battle Island!

LOL WUT
Earnistly, though, I always hypothesised developer teams were able to delete their test profiles once testing is over :p

It says "customise", not "draw your own stuff". Choosing from a collection of flags is a part of customisation.
I presumed this was due to the same reasons why you can't use own levels online: people drawing mature content ;)
What I don't get though, how come Worms Open Warfare 2 offered all this? I mean, even the DS version permitted you to draw own flags, while at the same time you weren't even allowed to use your own worm names online?
So yea, after 1 month of owning the game for PSP I eventually met Turbo-T online. It's taken so long only because you can't add people to your friends list unless you actually met them before. A bit of retarded isn't it?
It's also a real shame you can't see who's currently online, since that would make things way easier and you wouldn't have to spend your life waiting for a player to show up in your lobby... waiting... and waiting... still waiting...
Oh, and I'm also taking the oppotunity to apologize to Turbo-T for our second match we couldn't finish. My battery ran empty again... a usual problem to me, as I can only play online using hotspots. I spent most of my battery power on waiting for other players anyway :p

Hi Thurbo,
nice to meet you, you are really good!
You donīt need to apologize, I know you are not a quitter.
Sometimes I was kicked out from the wormnet, I donīt know why.
Hope to see you soon again!
Things are actually getting cooler now. Turbo-T really is the only good player I've met so far, I hope you are usually playing in the afternoon (because that's the only daytime I'm online).
Heck, we should form a clan. Too bad that option's been removed for Battle Islands :p

Yesterday and today I only played because I was ill :(
Im only in the evening starting 8-9 pm, but not every day.
Now, when the wheather is soo great I get out instead of playing video games. I get old (32) I know ;)
Almost sure Iīm online every sunday evening.
BTW, there was another real good player named "kikiller77" but he wasnīt only for a long time :(
But donīt blame the other players, there get better every game, and one day they will beat you :p
The fact playing this game all the day long would be the only option for me to reach the top ten, disregarding how skilled I actually am, is kinda sad. I mean, looking at my current success rate of 99% by 201 played matches (which means I only lost like 2 times), and there's no way to reach the top ten? Darn you Team17, what have you done. There better shouldn't have been any rankings at all :p

Not going to happen. The players in Open Warfare 2 are still acting like the game released only yesterday, and the game's like four years old. :(

Relax!
The game should be only fun, no work!
In OW2 you also had to play often to reach Nr.1, itīs i every game, you canīt play some matches and want to be Nr.1 ;).
Itīs great be Nr.1 in the ranks, but as you see, I getting kicked now (the bonus to be one of the first players is over now) and I donīt want to use all my sparetime to worms, especially in the summerdays.
But thats ok for me, itīs enough for me to win the most matches and have a lot of fun!
Maybe I play only friendmatches, itīs sooo great to chat after a great move!
I'd play this game for fun like I play Worms Reloaded or Armageddon, for example. But fun in Worms means a few good deathmatch games against a relatively good player, or some four players mayhem :p
Battle Islands doesn't offer this, mostly due to the lack of players and awkward online menus. So what do you do if you can't really enjoy a game like it's supposed to be? You set yourself some objectives, and I already reached the "get the highest possible rank" one. Now the only thing left to do would be to climb the rankings. But that doesn't work properly, it all depends on your endurance, how often and how long you play the game. There are only noobs sitting in the Top Ten of the Wii version.
I like Worms very much, and I would love to enjoy Battle Islands as well. But the only thing that works is the gameplay itself, and that's not enough, unfortunately.
If only we could somehow create a chat and gather a lot of people to be able to play some four players matches.
So... You didn't say Dazzy was a good player did you? Good, because he's terrible. The reason I'm writing this is something else though:
I played two matches with him and won all four rounds in a row. In the end, it bumped me up from spot 42 to 41 in the rankings and Dazzy's still ranked first. If that's how rankings work, then good-bye.
