Hi there,
Just want to say that I've been really enjoying playing through Worms Reloaded. I have one small request to make for a future patch.
When the game starts there is usually an introductory sound effect, I'd describe it as like a guitar crash. I've no objections to the sound effect itself however it does play every time, even when I have muted the sound in my game.
Could this be changed so that it only plays if the player has got sound switched on in the in game options?
The reason I ask is that I sometimes listen to audiobooks which are generally quite quiet and then when I load up Worms I get deafened by the loud introductory sound effect!
Are you using Windows Vista or 7? In that case you can simply mute Worms by clicking the volume icon by the clock, and then go to "mixer".
But I agree, they should fix this so that all sounds are indeed muted when sound effects are turned off.

The sound setting are linked to your profile.
So profile 1 can have different sound setting then profile 2.
And with that beginning sound, you don't have a profile loaded yet.

What happens if you delete the soundfile from your hd. Would that help and would the game still run? Or will steam just re-download it as it is a missing file?

I don't think you can.
Sounds are made into packages (as far as I know)
You can't change/delete just a single sound.

You can disable all Worms Reloaded sounds by adding /NOAUDIO to local.cfg
notepad C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\worms reloaded\local.cfg
Paste /NOAUDIO
Some other options you might want to use:
/PROFILE:nospacesprofilename
/SKIPLOGO
/ALWAYSREADY
I'm using 7 so I suppose I could adjust the application volume from the system mixer. I can understand them wishing to have per profile sound settings, however it's just a personal thing that I think an application volume switch in the programme would be a nice thing.
Thanks to everyone for their replies.

I agree with the sound change at the start. Perhaps with the W:A online start up tune. Da da da daaaa ddaaaa da da da da da-da-da-Bum.
Currently the guitar riff or whatever is being used now gives me a shock each time I start worms, because the sound setting I use with my Creative T20's works well in game with worms voices and weapon sound effects, but the introductory music is way too loud. I keep thinking where I kept the Subwoofer as I scramble to lower the volume, only to remember I don't have one :)
