View Full Version : What the hell is going on?!
So I finally manage to get an online game working (the first one infact) and look what happens! Apologies for the poor picture quality but I had to take this with my phone because using print screen just gave a black screen.

It seemed two of us were playing on one landscape and the other two were on "the other". Everyone was still in the game if you could call it that, taking turns, taking damage, random places blowing up. I managed to "win" by drowning the final worm with an earthquake, although everyone else probably won on their end because it was that messed up!

Had this happen before, but I'm pretty sure it's just a texture bug, the map has allways been the same for everyone when it happens. It's just that a new map gets generated, but retains the texture of a previous map, the black areas however are still terrain.
Are you sure the map was different for other people?
Well I'm not 100% sure because no one responded in the chat when I asked but weird things were definately happening in the game.
For example I saw someone just launch a Homing missile straight into the ceiling (you can see it in the pic). It exploded there but when the next players turn came a worm all the way across the map had took damage and died.
Also you can't see any in the pic but crates were spawning INSIDE the girder ceiling. By the end of the game there was a whole line of them inside it. Only one crate I remember managed to make it inside the map.
Pretty sure it must have been some kind of sync issue. The guy changed landscapes a lot before the start then all of a sudden that map appeared and the game had started. I've played a few games since and its been fine, just hope it was a complete one off.
I also had another great bug happen to me tonight. Playing a 1v1v1v1 and after about 3 turns, one of my worms magically goes to 500 HP. Cue getting accused of hacking :( I think they believed me in the end and were just winding me up but hey I don't want my Steam account disabled!
It then happened to another worm on my team before I could surrender. Both worms then somehow dropped to 1 HP without taking damage. It was only my team in this game that was affected. I did get a picture but you can't make it out well because another worms name is directly above it.
I know games generally are a little buggy on release (and unfortunately its to be expected, we should get better quality!) but two out of the 5 online games I played tonight have had gamebreaking bugs in them.

Just a quick note for you:
If you press the Screen-button on your keyboard, a screenshot will be saved at:
C:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/Common/Worms Reloaded/Screenshots
This looks like a desync'ed game to me.
Weird stuff can happen, because the game still synchronizes all worm locations and health/damage values after each turn, while in fact the clients are playing on different maps on their respective sides.
This can even go so far, that one client has a border and no air strikes, while the other has them, with all it's consequences.
There's a glitch thread you should use instead of creating new ones for every single bug. Also it was reported already:
