Team17, could you preload this game for us? We have been waiting and waiting for this game, so we should at least be able to pre-load the game and play it once it comes out on the 25th (If you pre-ordered). I'm going to Canada on Tuesday and staying at a hotel on Wednesday, so once I get to the hotel and sleep a whole day, playing a really good game for 3 whole hours to Vancouver should be fun!
TL;DR: Preload Worms:Reloaded on every person who pre-ordered on steam.
Indeed! were suppost to have 24 hours early access, how can we do that if we haven't preloaded the game?!
SteamTime: Available: 26 August 2010
This game will unlock in approximately 3 days and 5 hours
So I should be playing this game in 2 days and 5 hours!
Ahh, don't matter.. went on a visit to the steam forum, apparently they plan to work on the game till the last minute before the release date = no preload.

Interesting...
You will be able to play it on the 25th! The game is about 2GB but it'll be a considerably smaller download thanks to compression so that shouldn't be an issue. But if you're getting poor download speeds you could always switch to a different Steam content server. ;)

I'm hoping this game will be released for pre-orderers like, at the stoke of midnight going into Wednesday :D
Err... do games on Steam normally do that? I mean, let people who pre-ordered it play it a day before its official release?
And are you sure you just aren't getting confused with games that can be downloaded early, but not played until the game's release?

Some games have early acces yes, but pre-loading without being able to play it is still very handy to skip the time downloading it first.
For instance on wednesday around 17:00-18:00 WR will be released but I won't be able to play then because I have to download first.... However on steam forums it has been said by BillT17 that there won't be a preload because they need all the time to work on the project.

Usually, when games are being released, everyone is downloading them at the same time. So, you might not download any faster then 10 kb per second.

Certainly some have in the past. Red Orchestra did.

Steam uses P2P so it would only be slow for maybe the first 20 minutes at which point it would speed up notably.

No. Steam has some test p2p dll's since 2007, but doesn't use them.

it doesn't use p2p. if you're afraid of a server overload (don't be) change your download server in the settings. i won't tell you guys what i use, since i like how empty it seems

This one is meant to allow access to the game 24 hours before the official release if you've preordered.
I would like to see preloading for this game, but hey ho. 2GB will be relatively painless.

When the pre-order early access goes live you'll be able to download it.
