Could this be coming soon?
According to the team 17 site, they are recruiting:
"Web / Flash Game Programmers" with "Experience of working on games for Facebook or Messenger Live is desirable."
As a website designer (for my career) and as a gaming enthusiast I see this as the perfect direction in which to take worms.
Take a look at what zynga have done with any of their games, farmville being the most prominent.
Clearly the complexity of farmville etc proves that the technology is there. I think its only a matter of time before Team17 either utilises this, or gets the IP purchased from them to do it, by a company like zynga.
Of course, the game could easily be converted into a microtransaction game, custom weapons, what your worm looks like, what it wears, custom map packs, etc.
If your someone from team17 reading this, you have to do it, before someone makes a rip off copy and steals the audience.
Hell, there are companies already doing it, take a look at jagex' funorb... they have a game called Arcanists which is worms with wizards.
Oh and its their most popular game :)
Thoughts?
