it popped me up when i opened steam today.....but its nice to have a topic for those who doesnt suffer steam every day xD
My first impression viewing the trailer was....wow!, they put a lot of schemmes in it.....
The unique thing I totaly disliked, judging it by the trailer, was the 2 newweapons showed in the trailer.....I mean the meerkat and the termit....okok, the meerkat can be good, it looks llike it can climb mountains so its not useless, at least......but I dont find the termit useful at all(from what i can see in the trailer)....

I want to pre-order the game but I'm going to be more financially comfortable to do this in three weeks. Is there a possibility that I'm going to miss the pre-order extras if I pay for the game 4 days before the release date? I know this may sound a bit stupid but I haven't pre-ordered a game on Steam yet and I cannot be quite sure if such bonuses are stable/fixed or may vary throughout the pre-order period.

and since T17 has already released ONE deal us day-one guys missed out on, you may end up getting a better offer by that point

You should be able to pre-order it up to the very last minute, according to the countdown on the store page, which is adapted to your time zone.

That's because Team17 regularly updates their facebook page, there was just nobody who cared to write it down here :p

Yea but really only for PC only dudes and what about all others?

I'd love to get this game but $20? I love worms but I don't want to pay for something that's $10 cheaper on xbox.

Yea but really only for PC only dudes and what about all others?what about all the others? you've gotten HOW many games recently? and even then. Full map editor, a few new weapons, forts, items, etc. a new campaign, etc etc etc. there's plenty of game and it's only $20. even if you picked up every other recent worms for every other platform, this one's still worth your money.

ugh, im mildly annoyed that a 4-pack option appeared less then a day after I preordered a copy <_<

Sure, but it's ridiculous how much they recycle and I constantly get the feeling "Ugh, already seen that". Like the tutorial and firing ranges which were already used in Worms: Open Warfare 2, Worms 2: Armageddon and now of course in Worms Reloaded. I also played Battle Islands demo... guess what? Tutorial is the same.
Maybe I should count all stuff together which the game features:
Body Count Mode isn't new, "brand new" vertical maps isn't new, landscape editor isn't new, there are actually just 7 new landscapes (the others are from Worms: Open Warfare), game modes aren't new. So I'm buying this game for the campaign (which is certainly again not as challenging as the Worms Armageddon/World Party/3D ones), better customisation and the fact they brought all that "not new" stuff into one single game (iPod contained body count but no vertical maps, for example).
I'm not really sure if that's worth 20 bucks, but since I'm a fan I'd buy it anyway.

Landscape editor is further enhanced compared to Worms Armageddon, so its not as if it hasn't got any new features. I'd say its worth the price, and it'll most likely get updated with new DLC, i'd expect they'll release DLC a few months after they release the game.
Both campaigns are easier than WA/WWP, although that's not to say that they aren't challenging at all.

Compared to OW2 editor didn't change.
Yes, I hope WR will get constantly updated, like Worms Armageddon.

Well, Worms Open Warfare 1&2 as well as Space Oddity campaigns were rather boring (though Space Oddity fortunately had a story and really funny movies). Team17 should think about adding levels of difficulty, because if you are a pro you wanna get challenged from time to time. Beating newbies IS fun, I'm honest there, but permamently it gets tedious. Same for the campaign. With no story or anything I don't really have a desire to play it.

Hmm... that sure is a good thing, but the advantage for myself isn't that huge. I can live without a community or even online play, I got a bunch of friends who also like Worms and I can simply invite them to play a match. This kind of social gaming can't be topped by online modes anyway and about 3/4 of the time I play Worms is offline. Though it is interesting to see how people around the world costumize their teams :p
Compared to OW2 editor didn't change.
Stop comparing PC to consoles, no one who is a PC gamer cares what is on a console so the fact that the editor is very similar to one on the consoles is very uninteresting. The fact that it has improved over the last 2D PC Worms game IS interesting.
Then you're forgetting there are players who also played console versions. Of course I can compare Worms Reloaded to W2:A or OW2, no matter if it's a console or PC version. Just because there are a few people who only play PC games I'm still allowed to do so.

Really? I counted quite a few new icons on the editor compared to Worms 2 Armageddon... and in one screenshot, the water was a different colour, so maybe the map editor allows you to change the water colours...
And I found the puzzles in Worms Open Warfare 2 fun, but really, I want the missions to return to WA/WWP style, with having to figure out how to collect a certain crate, finding a way to eliminate enemies, and so on. What happened to creative levels like the pipe mission in WWP?
That's it, levels are mainly deathmatches, no creative ones at all.
There are only two or three more icons compared to OW2, that can't be much. The water colour was different because it was from the hell levels which feature lava water. I know it was cheese level not hell, but that's a certain bug from OW2 they didn't fix it seems.

I know it was cheese level not hell, but that's a certain bug from OW2 they didn't fix it seems.oh. and you know this for certain? it can't POSSIBLY be a new feature?!
and ffs, dude. you're complaining about EVERYTHING here. this is the first time us PC gamers have had a 2D worms in like 10 years. shut your whiny face and accept that a $20 game isn't going to be filled to the brim with things that have never been seen before in any past game in the series. christ.
oh. and you know this for certain? it can't POSSIBLY be a new feature?!
Cer-tain-ly. I can't prove it now so just wait for the game.
I'm not complaining about everything, it's just that you saying only because it is the first game for PC since years it justifies the fact Worms Reloaded barely offers features previous consoles games didn't have made me a little upset, but oh well, I'll shut up now I think...

If they are, I'll do the shutting up instead.
and for the record, I'm serious.
Oh yes...
The improvings between Worms Open Warfare/Worms Open Warfare 2 and Worms/Worms 2: Armageddon were huge. Terribly huge. Though you've got to say that Team17 drastically reduced features from World Party (or 4 Mayhem if you wish) to Open Warfare, but still.

This game, is aimed at the PC market, it is not aimed at the console market or it's players so I doubt Team17 care if it has the same features as the console version as it is meant to give PC players a taste of what they've been missing, not to give console players some new toy to play.

Worms Reloaded will not use GfWL. It uses Steamworks instead.
I'm not pre-ordering until I they explain why they lied about the pricing.

First of all Steam it's only digital shop. Very many games sells in Steam and use GFWL: Gears of War, DiRT 2, Fallout 3, GTA 4, Resident Evil 5.

Good. Glad to hear it)

Where did Team17 say that the game would be €10? Up until now they've said "The pricing is still to be decided, but it won't be €50-ish" as far as I know until Steam announced the pre-order.
P.S. Already pre-ordered it... Wheee!

That's not what I meant. In this post (http://forum.team17.co.uk/showpost.php?p=720092&postcount=37) they said they wouldn't use the 1€=$1 conversion, but they did.

Man no wonder I never come here anymore.
For the record, those across the pond have reason to be honked off at the €20 pricing because it's $20 instead if you live over here. What is it with games on Steam sharing a pricetag across wildly differing currencies, I wonder.
It's a policy Valve recommends to developers whose games they're about to start selling. Most don't fight it.
The game's €13.49 for me, though, so clearly this isn't $1 = €1 at work but rather the equally wonky tier pricing.

Yeah, £16.19 here. That seems like pretty much the best deal I've ever seen for a game.
the four pack is a really good deal. me and my friends will jump on that @ $15 a piece.
I'm sorry my ignorance, but can someone explain me in few words what is "steam"?
I'll buy this game, because I'm a fan. I already have other original worms games. But, I would like to know that if it will be possible play these game, online, with an illegal copy. Or, to play online, you must have a legal copy? I'm asking this, as I said not because me, but because some friends who are not so addicted and, I'm almost sure that if you must buy the game to play it online, they will not do it.

Steam is an online distribution service, where you download digital copies of the games after you paid by credit card, PayPal and possibly some others.
Your game licenses are tied to the account your bought them with, so you can't play online with illegal copies, unless you have set up a hacked Steam server altogether.
So no, your pirate friends will have a very hard time playing the game online with you.
I suggest you convince them to chip in to buy the 4-pack, which is 25% cheaper ("get 4, pay 3").
Ok bonz, thanks a lot for the answer!
My favorite game is WA and I hope this new game will have the gameplay that WA. I think WA is almost perfect and will be hard WR let me (and many others) to stop play WA to play more WR. Furthermore, I hope the T17 support that WR will have, though the time, make such a good work, like WA developers are doing. But I'll give an opportunity to WR and I'll pre-order the game in a few days.
Cheers ;)
