Anybody managed to get WWP running on a Mac? (e.g. with vbox)

Hello!

Is anybody here able to play WWP on a Mac?

I tried to get it running in the vbox, as I read at some other places in the net that some users managed to play WWP on other systems than Windows within the vbox.

So I installed vbox and WWP, but when I start the game the screen just gets black, the game seems to try to change the screen resolution but then it crashes, even before the team 17 logo appears ... the game shuts down and the "send error report to microsoft" message appears.

I am using Mac OS X Snowleopard and trying to run the game in virtualbox 3.2.6 r63112 under Windows XP Service Pack 2.
The WWP Service Pack 1 is installed.

The hardware: Macbook Pro Late 2006, Intel Merlon CPU Core Duo 2 2.33, ATI Radeon X1600.

I have deactivated mouse integration and seamless mode.
2d and 3d accelarator are activated.

Has anybody experience with that and could give some suggestions what I could still try? I'd like to play WWP again on my Mac, too ... but without having to use bootcamp ... Is there any possiblity?

This is how I managed to be able to run WWP on a Mac:

1. Install latest version of vbox with Windows XP Service Pack 2
2. Install the guest additions while Windows XP is in safe mode
3. Activate seamless mode
4. Deactivate 2d acceleration and 3d acceleration
5. Deactivate 3d DirectX acceleration (experimental)

6. Install WWP and WWP Service Pack 1 from Team 17 (this step could also be done before changing the options, no problem)
7. Play and have fun :-)

It's not necessary to deactivate the mouse integration, but it's easier to play that way.

I'm currently using my Macbook Pro (few weeks old),
Bootcamp is what i use to run windows & OSX.

Windows 7 (64b) is the OS i use when i'm gaming (including worms).
using OSX for all other stuff.


So installing windows with Bootcamp might be your solution?
