Looking at Team17 twitter, I saw a message Martin Brown wrote to a Worms fan. The question was: "Are there the replays in WR?"
Well, read the answer on your own (image below)

Ok, this is a minor features, but for competitions or tournaments where the replay was the proof of how the match went this will be a problem!

Uhm ... FRAPS?
Since it's on the PC, and not on those ****ty consoles, users are able to record any games with recording programs. :P
Where is the prob?

Tiny replay files are easier to distribute than huge movie files and they could be run in a test environment to find the cause of bugs or potentially used to resume from a disconnected game.

i'm PC & Console gamer & i see no problem at all with console gaming & i think without consoles the game industry cant survive. ask team17 & they will tell you money is in console gaming not PC.
Here's a snippet from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy explaining one aspect of Brockian Ultra-Cricket:
Rule Three:
Put your team and the opposing team in a large field and build a high wall round them.
The reason for this is that, though the game is a major spectator sport, the frustration experienced by the audience at not actually being able to see what's going on leads them to imagine that it's a lot more exciting than it actually is. A crowd that has just watched a rather humdrum game experiences far less life-affirmation than a crowd that believes it has just missed the most dramatic event in sporting history.
Extrapolate this onto your Worms game and you should understand that adding automatic replay recordings of all games would potentially greatly detract from the experience. Good call, I'd say!

That wasn't his point. He just thinks consoles are ****ty for Worms. Deal with it.
Too bad the "Worms Guide to Hurting Friends and Blowing People up" doesn' t have the step "Annihilate your opponents and scare off all opponents left over with the replay while you laugh manically".

Fraps badly lags keyboard input on various computer configurations and requires you running it before you start a game.

Fraps is also more expensive than Worms Reloaded.

When I say that will be a problem you have to remember I don't speak only of my experience or really not mine.
I know I can use fraps or gamerecorder (it's free, it doesn't lag and you record 20 minutes in less than 200 MB), but you have to remember there are a great majority of people not knowing how to use these programs and what they are.
Example clear for all: when I ran my Worms 4 clan and I opened a medal contest, only 5-6 people out of 50 knew how to use gamerecorder or fraps. The others one didn't use them for lags, for lacking of knowledge or even because they couldn't find those.
So the problem isn't mine, but it could be for others. Keep in mind I always present problems with a larger view not including my ego (or only that).
PS: To let you the importance of replays, just check the TUS.wa website. If there weren't the replays there, how could they count the matches?
Why would you need a community-run league on a game with a native ranking system built into it?

The built-in ranking isn't going to be perfect or the type of ranking that everyone wants.
Saving of full game replays should be added. Worms Armageddon managed without it for about 5 years but now that we've had that feature for about 6 years, it will be missed from any new Worms games.
Yes, the importance of replays in WA is huge!
I think that is a totally bad evaluation of what's going on in worms community (mainly WA) if the (full) replays are not included with the game release. This new game are rising due to the success of WA. The success of WA is due to the players who still playing it and exploring it. So, the developers must be aware of the importance of replays for the currently WA players and be more close to they. It would be a big shot on the foot, if they will not add this feature. Probably a reason for WA players don't stop play WA to play this new game. Believe me!

As Wormetti said, the ranking system isn't perfect and doesn't include every kind of style/scheme.
Another thing is the tournaments: the ranking system doesn't preview them.
The ranking system SUCKS. If you are first or not depends on your playtime and not on your skills.

Except if they put, like in Quake Live, the percentage Wins/Losses and Quits.

that would be perfect if it had the recording option :( but maybe they will add it sometime?

WA didn't have a replay function when it launched either. Remember that.

Just because they didn't come up with it doesn't mean it's a bad idea.

Really? But Worms 2 already had. Additionally I'm sure replays came up before I installed the first patch.

Instant replay has been around for a long time but we are talking about saving whole game replays.
