View Full Version : A Couple Easy Questions.
Hey guys!
First, I want to thank the forum, because I found the wkcolorfix solution very easily (I'm using Windows 7).
Beside the wkcolorfix or turning off explorer.exe, has there been another way to fix the problem discovered?
Also, has anyone attempted to get the Steam Community features (such as the friends list) working while running WA through steam? I would love to be able to use the features in the game.

Yes, wait for the next beta update.

The Steam overlay requires the application to use at least DirectX 7, but WA uses DirectX 6 :(

Steam and other such overlays will most likely not work in paletted games. It's theoretically possible, but it'll look pretty bad (it'd have to use the game's palette), so most such software don't bother.

if you want a buddy list consider using a snooper. prosnooper, solixa snooper and wheat snooper all provide buddy lists. solixa snooper and wheat snooper both have the ability to have separate private message windows. all are compatible with wormkit. you can find all the snoopers and some info here lower right (http://worms2d.info/Software#WormNET_snoopers). prosnooper is probably the most popular, but the other 2 i mentioned have far more options and features.
there is a lot of info on that site, you should give it a searching over. 99% of all questions asked here can be answered there.

For some Reason when i have Steam running The palette messes up....but, as I said in other posts, I dont like Steam anyway, I just run it when I play CS:S.
But its an important problem for those ppl who want to have WA on Steam (u can add it to the Steam list being a "non-steam app" anyway but most likely the palettes will mess up)
