View Full Version : Worms MMORPG
hehe, soz I couldn't help it.
No point to this thread at all apart from a giggle.
Hmmmmm, but what would a Worms MMORPG look like and play like? Any ideas?

I suppose the more matches you won, the higher damage your team's weapons would do, as you levelled up...

you could win or find supply's in crates to make new weapons and level up that way :D
(how ever this could easily be put in to worms anyway, and make it a new scheme like an improvement of the "men at worm". one )
The only rule to this is when you make an item it uses up the supply's the item need's and you only get between 1 to 3 ammo
:D
a worst
Are you trying to imply that the worms would look like sausages?

I'm pretty sure that would be a wurst.
It bears thinking about though...
Maybe that would only affect German players though.
Wurst Armageddon 2: Revenge of the Flying Sausage ;)
Seeing how much love the concept of 3D Worms is receiving, a 2D Worms MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Rocket Propelled Grandma?) could set a new record in travel time... :D

oh, no no no no no.....
If there was to be a Worms MMORPG, it MUST be in 2D!!!!
We all know the 3D versions of worms suck in every way.
Sooner or later, Sonic The Hedgehog will learn that 2D is better than 3D too.
Some game franchises are just meant to be played in 2D no matter what genre they go in to.
The good thing about a worms MMOG (RPG or not - probably not) would be a persistant world of battle to drop in and out of for control and some grinding mechanic to make your team tougher.
lulz, OMG, Can't believe I'm even posting half sensible in this topic, lol.
P.S. Anyone else signed up to the Lego MMORPG Beta? (I'm not kidding)

There's a game called "Gunbound" which explores this. Give it a go.

I used to play Gunbound all the time a few years ago and was pretty much addicted to it for quite awhile. I do believe Team17 could learn some tricks from them too.
I know all about getting points for the different clothing and there boosting abilities.. I went off the game though when they let the noobs buy them for cash (defeats the point of having skill if you can just buy perks).
But it is not exactly a persistent virtual world conquest is it? but rather the same as worms map wise.
I mean for a worms MMOG you could parachute on to a piece of contested land when you log on and start the fight from there.
Gunbound do 2v2 player the exact same way I would love to see it in ranked matches of Worms 2 Armageddon, if they introduce 4 player ranked matches(but with a team each instead of a mount each), yet peeps in that thread seem to miss the point, so I gave up trying to explain (well in all fairness to them I just didn't bother explaining any further what I meant as they had enough arguments going on in that thread as it was to be of anything constructive).
Here's some of my [serious] thoughts on the subject, though a little outdated now:

If they would make a worms MMO(RP)G it should be 3D.
I mean...A 2D MMOG? Sounds weird to me...

Maplestory is quite popular.
