The update 3.6.29.0 beta don't work with windows 98 ???

Forgive my English, the fact is that I talk Spanish.

When i install the update "3,6,29,0 beta" and run the game (all in windows 98se), jump a warning that I need to renew the operating system and the game close itself.

Note : With the update "3.0.5.0 beta 2" it don't problem. But i need the update "3.6.29.0 beta" for game online, is true?.

So, does there be any solution?, without change of operating system ??

does the win98 compatibily limit in some way the development of updates?

I don't believe so (though I'm not CS so I can't say for sure), I think he said it's because he switched to a later version of Visual Studio which doesn't support 98 compatibility (but he didn't realise that at the time). I'm pretty certain he's switched back to the older one now, but I'm not 100% sure. I'll check on one of the alphas some time (you can choose which Windows version to masquerade as in wine).

EDIT: I just looked at the changelog, and it is fixed:
* Win9x compatibility fixed (resource numbers for FULLSCHEMES were too high)
