Ranked Online - Worm Placements

I've been playing a lot of the Crazy Crates gametype on ranked, and with 30 games to 25 wins, I've been getting extremely unlucky spawn points where more often than not I'm losing 2 worms from the opposing players first turn.

Is this a system set in to make it harder for higher ranked players to annihilate people within minutes, or am I just being swamped with bad luck?

Also, I've NEVER had the first turn from a ranked game, what's that about?

I can say that I have witnessed players with really bad spawn positions with high rank.

First turns are based on trueskill rating. If I < U, then I go first.

That's what I thought; until I played the guy ranked 2nd, and he went first. Maybe it's do with host? As I've hosted everyone of my games.
