Can't walk backwards

Whenever I try to walk backwards (shift + arrow key) the worm sort of "stutters" backwards, and thus moves extremely slowly. The same occurs when I try to walk forwards while holding shift.

I seem to remember a time when I could shift-walk just fine, but it wasn't for long, and I don't remember making any changes to my system or keyboard. Also, I don't have any problems with my shift key, or keyboard in general, in any other application.

This isn't too terrible of a problem as it's only a minor inconvenience during play, but I'm still curious as to what the issue is here.

The problem is with your keyboard or an application that is running on your computer. Do you have any macro software running?

No, I don't have any macro software running. Usually I run WA without any programs in the background anyway.

Also, I unfortunately don't have another keyboard to swap out with this one, and I don't really want to buy a new keyboard just for this.

Ah well, guess I'll just have to live with it then.
