View Full Version : Needing to have the disc in the drive when playing

Hi folks, just registered.

I purchased Worms Armageddon a long time ago. It was one of my very first video games. When I play the game, I insert the disc into the disc drive like usual, run the game and it's fine. But, every 1 minute in-game, the disc in the drive starts to spin so fast and it gets so loud that it is overwhelming. I actually don't play the game so often just because of this. Isn't it enough to require the disc when starting instead of always checking for it every 1 min in-game? The loduness of my drive gets so annoying after some time :(

Can I somehow play the game without it constantly checking every minute for the disc in the drive? (it would finally help me get some silence :D and fewer headaches to behold)

W:A streams the soundtrack from the CD. The OS should be able to estimate the read speed and adjust the drive speed accordingly, but obviously it's not doing it for you.

Have a look at this guide: http://worms2d.info/Running_WA_without_the_CD
