Greetings,

I'm in the process of setting up my friends and I for playing some WA. Ive installed the game on my and my wife's computer. To test things out, I logged us into WormNet and tried to host a game. When either of us hosts, the other cannot get in. Our host game name is also in yellow. I am guessing this is so because we use the same IP address. What is the best way to alter this so we can both play on wormnet? I use a basic 4 port Linksys router or perhaps there is an option in the game someplace to allow the same IP to connect (Blizzard's Battlenet for example, has no problems with this issue). Thanks for reading.

IIRC, it will work if one of you is joining the host via the direct IP feature.
That means you need to know the IP address of the host. (If one of you is hosting this should be trivial.)

If someone knows better, please correct me.

First, test your ability to be a server. You can do that by checking the accessibility of the port used to host while hosting (or if someone can join your game, then it's ok).

To be able to join each other's games, use WormNAT or other hosting sollutions (like Hosting Whore (http://forum.team17.co.uk/showthread.php?t=38267))

I have 3 computers. One is directly connected to the Internet and the other 2 get access via ICS. I was able to join my own games only when hosting from the computer directly connected to the Internet. Direct IP connection didn't help. I solved this problem by using a live port-forwarding program called NetworkActiv AUTAPF which allows me to join my own games regardless of what computer I used to host the game.

It looks like this:

Here is another live port-forwarding solution: http://www.port-forwarding.net/port-forwarding-software/port-forward.html

Thanks for the input. I'll keep those methods in mind. Since this was my first post, the admin had a delay before it hit the boards. During that time I tinkered around with some stuff and got it to work. The IP address that showed up in W:A was different than the ones actually assigned to our computers. So I did a forice IP in setup and it took care of that problem.

If you're both on the same LAN, you could have just set up a network game. Keep in mind that if you force an internal IP and host a game on WormNET, no one will be able to join.
