Hi, I just played this game....

Dudes? Are you ****ing crazy?

Was this game even tested for bugs?

WHAT DID YOU DO TO LARRY?

Is it normal for TEAM 17 ****ing on graves without any respect?

Itīs even dumb to download this piece of **** with p2p like torrent.

:(

I thought TEAM 17 stands for creativity and good games, not for **** !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

R.I.P. Team 17

Sincerly,
Olaf Szymanski

So, you pirate games, eh? And you're surprised they don't work?

He never said he pirated, he only said "this game is not ever worth free" in other words. It's also stupid to assume the bugs he is experiencing are only due to him using pirated software.

So congratulations on your great post.

He is called Olaf and he's from LEGOLAND. Everything he says must be true. It could only be more true if his name was Odin.

I can't speak for T17, Olaf, but I'd hazard a guess that the publisher (Codemasters, I think) had quite a lot of say in how the game turned out in the end.

Actually, I've read a few reviews about this game, and it doesn't seem to be really appreciated, apparently, they ruined the series, fun, gameplay, and about everything else. I haven't played it myself since that's definitely not my kind of game (plus I've never played Leisure Suit Larry before), but if the game is that bad, then that's a great pity that they put so much work into it for almost nothing.

Apparently, the previous game in the series, Magna Cum Laude from 2004, also was lacking involvement of Al Lowe, the creator of the first six games.
That game also was the first that exchanged Larry Laffer with his nephew Larry Lovage.

Team17 surely isn't to blame if the game isn't as good as the originals.
Sierra Entertainment and High Voltage Software obviously set that new course in 2004.

"It's not my fault I hit an iceberg, I was just doing what my captain told me!"

In any case, the series has been milked dry long ago. It's not just the lack of Al Lowe, but there's only so much you can do with cheesy horny humour. (and tenth time isn't the charm :p) Both parties should just find something else to work on and move on.

Looking at review sites (that aren't purists like OtaQ), there seem to be actual issues so it can't just be blamed on "oh it's not Larry anymore!" anyways, as convenient as it would be. Sure develoeprs hold their work dearly and publishers are very businessy, but that doesn't mean they're free from making mistakes.
