WWP Won't Go in XP SP3

It will not load, and goes back to desktop. I'm thinking, could it be SP3? Is there a fix, if it is? If anyone knows, please help. Thanks

try running it in compatability mode, 98 or something? worth a shot

you can try doing what coleslaw said, if that does'nt work you could try installing SP2 instead of SP3, that worked great for me.

SP3 contains useful security updates. Install SP3. Doing what Coleslaw said works for me.

Yes I had the same problem nothing worked, I installed a copy of sp3 xp and since all i got was a black screen then nothing. i noticed in control panel, System, hardware then device manager my vga controller wasnt installed properly because of sp3 for some reason, I put in my old sp2 disk and updated the driver. Everything works fine again now. Worms!!!

have a look in system then device manager and see if ur VGA controller is installed properly sp3 wouldnt install it. so i put a sp2 disk in and updated the driver. Then no more black screen and back onto desktop :)

I am having problems running WWP with XP SP3, I do not have a VGA controller in my hardware list. Compatibility mode does not work for 2000, 98/ME or 95 and the patches on the website. These didn't do anything.

I open the game and select single player, select a game mode, I get a pink square on my screen before a black screen where I can hear the sound but cannot actually play the game. I would really like a reply to this message in an attempt to fix as I have noticed the majority of the threads go unanswered and people go unhelped.
