View Full Version : Electromagnets FTW - Weapons they work against

All hail the glorious electromagnet! In my opinion, it's the best new utility. This is a list of what weapons it works against and metal weapons it DOESN'T work against, and how well it does. Enjoy! (Note: this is for REPELLING magnet, it works just as well for these same weapons but the opposite obv.)

Bazooka - deflects well
Grenade - deflects well
Dyanamite - doesn't work for some reason
Mine - works occassionally, i wouldn't take chances though
Bunker Buster - completely deflects (worm standing right next to it is best for protection)
Air Strike - completely deflects - 'scatters' the rockets in all directions
Homing missile - deflects well
Cluster Bomb - deflects well
Uzi - no effect
Shotgun - no effect
Sentry Gun - no effect
Holy Hand Grenade - deflects well
Pneumatic Drill - no effect (why would it have an effect?)
Note:
If the Bunker Buster is dropped from a short height directly onto a REPELLING electromagnet, then it will actually turn around and travelling vertically upwards, then veer to the left or right (depending on wind or other factors). Either way, the worm at the electromagnet will not be harmed.
Thanks for reading this, please leave comments, anything you might have found out from using the magnet etc etc. Thanks.:)

I for one cannot work out why you are confused that the dynamite doesn't work: in my experience, plastic isn't affected by magnets, so why should a plastic explosive be?

good point - why on earth did i think dynamites were metallic? my mistake.

I didn't think dynamite was either - I thought it was nitroglycerine-soaked sawdust held in a paper/card casing.

Or maybe gunpowder (which is magnetic, or maybe can be magnetised, probably)...

No, it's nitroglycerine.
To be fair, the first plastic explosive (gelignite) was also a nitroglycerine explosive, but it's nitroglycerine soaked in wood pulp as apposed to earth like stuff or sawdust. Both were invented by Noble too.
Gunpowder isn't explosive, so wouldn't work in dynamite.

Also, plastic explosives aren't made out of plastic.

None of these metal weapons would be repelled anyway since magnets generally only repel other magnets. Of course I don't want or expect totally realistic physics from worms, it's fun just the way it is.

If you wanted it to be slightly more "realistic" though, projectiles/parachuting worms could be blown away with a strong fan or they could add an anti-air feature to the sentry gun, so it shoots down incoming homing missiles/sheep.

And another thing, since when do worms have big eyes and weaponry? This game's ludicrous. ;)

Er, not quite. Iron, nickel and cobalt are strongly affected by magnets. Iron is fairly common in alloys.

I quite agree.

Not repelled though.

why do you all post in this topics? when you can playing worms? xDDDDDD idk that xD

after they stop working you can put bombs by them and intensify its boom. I know the dynomite gets bumped up to around 112 damage.

This is just one of the small secrets to why Im the best \("o )/

Even more strange is why do these worms have hands and speak human languages? I believe that the worms games are developed by the government to train us for the coming Human Worm-man war.
