If I was in any way good with Photoshop, I would've made an animation of the machine from The Time Machine with the Mac rainbow pinwheel as the back disk.

Hypothetically, it would be amusing.

These things are just scraping the bottom of the barrel these days anyway. Personally I thought it would be rather nice to let it die with some tiny piece of dignity after the last month of the previous year rather than make it sink DEEPER. :p
