hey guys i got worms2 originally for christmas 1997 and my cd went missing around 2003 but it's one of my all time favourites
downloaded the copy off trygames for $15 US which seems expensive to me considering they just host it.actually it deserves a complaint - why can't they put the video clips and music in when you are being charged so much for something they have no overheads for? i remember the music being awesome but i digress
i had worms armageddon but it just was not as good , the ninja rope was perfect in worms2 and they screwed it up in armageddon.couldn't get it to shoot downwards only at an angle of 90 degrees or more.

Team17 have no control over the pricing for the Trygames version. It is widely regarded on these forums as a rip-off and a total waste of money, no matter which T17 game you buy through trygames.
The best option seems to be to buy one of the mulitpacks from the Team17 store. This one (https://secure.team17.com/browse.html?area=detail&skuid=79) has Worms2 and Worms:Armageddon in it for GB£5.99 - with shipping its often still cheaper than the trymedia version...
Get a refund (http://csc.trymedia.com/csc/refund_request/publisher=team17/contentid=f4b1d37a0796d648a2f92c5e87ca1edd/offering=20m_d_a51/affiliate=trygames/index.html)!
Then do what thomasp said.
arrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhh
Lots of new weapons. Superior online play. Still patches in development. More active community. Better missions. BUT I CAN'T SHOOT THE ROPE 90 DEGREES?
arrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhh
For the record, YES WE CAN, shoot the rope 90 degrees, you just need the latest Beta patch and to activate teststuff.

Umm...
Yes?
You also need to increase the rope Power setting o_o oh and the 90 degree limitation is intended and is awesome. I used to playe Worms 2 online for about 2 - 4 years.

2-4 years?
Quite a generous estimate you got there.
Sieve for a head?
Well I started offline in 1997, but can't remember when I first started playing online.

Allow me to doubt you had internet in your Australian home in 1997.

All speechbanks are compatible with all 2nd generation games, i.e. W2, WA and WWP.
In fact, they all use the same speechbank editor that came with W2 originally.
WA is not Worms3, BTW.
