Network drops?

I have been getting a lot of network drops recently, almost at every game that I either host or join... usually it's in the first few turns, if not the very first!

It's ruining the game for me and driving me crazy, any help - please?

I'm on vista, wireless router netgear DG834GT, my ports are forwarded, decent internet speed,

Please check your connection strength. Occasional loss of wi-fi connectivity will cause network drops. and W:A can't automatically re-establish the connection.

Some routers have an option to disconnect an internet connection when there is no request from the computer.
(For DSL connection, I believe.)
