game shuts down when i connect to Wormnet

I have Worms Armageddon, and I have problems when trying to play on Wormsnet. I can log into Wormnet, but after I log in, I can briefly see the channels available, but then the game inexplicably shuts down completely. I have restarted the game and tried to log into Wormnet again, but the same problem happens consistently. Any help with this would be appreciated, as I really love playing online!

Are you using the latest Beta version?
Have you tried disabling any firewalls that might be causing this?

firewalls are all off (i think, as far as i know my computer only has one firewall). i had previously installed the beta update, but still had the same problem. then i saw that you aren't supposed to use the beta update with trymedia downloads, so i uninstalled the update and reinstalled WA, but the problem still persists.

2) Buy the CD version, for cheaper most likely than the trymedia one (https://secure.team17.com)
