I went to a friends house today, and he had an old A1200 in his wardrobe, so I hooked it up because I was bored, but I couldn't find a mouse. And guess which game was on the HDD?
That's right, W:DC. And I couldn't play it.
I will go round again this weekend, and bring a mouse, so then I will hopefully be :)
And I might even persuade his dad to sell me the original game if he has the disk, so then I can enjoy it on my own A1200.
Eff you Muzer! Stop hogging all the rare stuff!
lol :p
What other rare stuff do I have?
Apart from the Amstrad GX4000, a Famicom Twin with SMB2 (the real SMB2)...
lol
EDIT: I can't wait, I'm going to try exporting it from .ADFs again...

Hah. I have a NES (Famicom) original. Still safe and sound. Ahh. With the original SMB 1. Can't beat that. Oh, and a Spectrum 128K +3 that is in full working condition, with a joystick. Sadly, the game floppy bit the dust after going round the washing machine years ago.
Muzer, if he still has the original game, please make high-res scans of the box, manual, disks and everything else you find, so I can upload the goodies to D17.
I have an orginal NES with SMB/Duck Hunt, and I also have a Speccy +2 (more compatible) with loads of games.

Hm, I'll grant you on the +2 there.
I have a SNES with original posters, instructions, and a case with about 10 pristine games (boxes, instructions, maps/posters etc) including Secret Of Mana, Final Fantasy 6, Breath Of Fire 1 and 2, and a Chrono Trigger still with cellophane wrapper.
Beat that :P.
P.S, i also have an Acorn 3020 and Atari ST.
My (IIRC) 1989 IBM PS2 still works, along with Lemmings, Risky Woods, Prince of Persia (I always feel sad when people who have the new series never heard of the old series) and Links. Don't have anything older than that.

I still have an original boxed copy of WormsDC in storage back in the UK. I've considered buying a replacement A1200 to play it on.

Why aren't there any scans on D17 yet? We only have the front side of the box there.

Same here  I loved playing duck hunt as a kid, with the gun exactly over the screen...
And it was already old by then :p so old that the real owners gave it to me. :p
Also, a friend lent me Kid Icarus :D I need to try it when I'm free again.

I agree. I tried the demo that comes with SSBB. Then I rammed pencils trough my eye sockets and had the exact same experience.

It's fairly easy, there were 4 or 5 levels i got stuck on that i had my BRO do for me though. I just needed a break every so often because it gets pretty intense at times and your hands start to cramp. Like, one of the levels was that one with nothing but little platforms spread far apart with Super Springs on them and a constant wind blowing you... I couldn't do it because I was so used to normal levels that I kept misjudging everything.
I never played levels A, B, C, D or whatever since I used a warp :( I could try it again, since I do own it on the SNES :P
Kid Icarus isn't that bad once you stop sucking in it though.
Which tends to take some time....

Which tends to take some time....oh I can survive well enough after a little while, but the levels themselves are such a damn pain...granted, perhaps that would also get better with time, but seriously, the game is just too damn hard to bother with.

My superior SNES box is big. And has advertisment of Nintendo franchise games on the back.
On the other hand, my Master System comes with Alex Kidd the original recorded in its memory. BEAT THAT
I still couldn't play it. The mouse port is broken. He does not have the original, he said he borrowed it from a friend. I did copy CrossDOS though so I can at least possibly copy the ADF images...

Compared to these jewels of home computing my 8 pound laptop with a Intel 486 processor, 320 MB Harddisk, 20 MB RAM, PCMCIA slot, PS/2-, VGA Connector, Floppy Disk Drive and monochrome display looks like new-fashioned junk. ^^

I kinda remember when that used to be elitist... Nostalgia... :(

Some old memories come up when I look at my good old Pentium II Box under my desk. Once upon a time it housed only a 386 with 33 MHz, some old ELSA graphics and SoundBlaster 16 in there and with MS-DOS 5.22 there were installed some cool games on it. I loved those days when I played Transport Tycoon on it or lost every Micro Machines 2 race against my brother. I'm also remembering some worms demo sessions. *sign*
Now it's still rocking. Pentium II at 350 MHz, 386 MB RAM, 10 GB IBM Harddisk, some Asus graphics with geforce fx (couldn't get working my old ELSA Erazor III Pro at my panels native resolution) and Terratec DMX. Windows 98 SE had to give way for an ubuntu system. Ok, current desktops are too heavy for that little machine. But FluxBox and a terminal session help to get nostalgic again. And I've to say: bash is so much better than MS-DOS ^^
Edit: Totally forget about the addicting effects of Tubular Worlds and the Oxyd games ... :D
Edit2: Forgot the classic "The settler" serial

At my Mum's in England for two weeks. Found my old copy of WormsDC. I'm considering eBaying an A1200 on the cheap while I'm here and bringing it back to the US with me.
