Hello everybody!
Introduction
I am Lars from Germany and tried to run Worms under Windows Vista. Many users reported problems with it and I had such problems too. But here is a short explanation about the problem and how you get Worms working under Windows Vista!
Explanation
I installed Worms 4 Mayhem and installed the patch from http://wormsmayhem.com/support.html?subsection=patch. Then I got a warning like "You need administration rights." (I got a German warning because I installed the German version, but the English one should be nearly what I said). I started Worms with Administrator rights and restarted my computer (Worms told me to do it!). Afterwards I got another message from Worms: "The copy prevention drivers could not be installed." (Again I had a German messsage ;)). It looked like a problem with the copy prevention. I found the files protect.exe and protect.dll in the programs folder of Worms and in their details I found the name "StarForce". After a short research in the web I found their official website at http://star-force.com/ and a link to a Vista ready version of it.
Result
To run Worms 4 Mayhem under Windows Vista install the driver from http://star-force.com/support/drivers/ (Versions before 5.5) after you installed Worms and its latest patch.
Note
It is also possible to disable the User Account Control, but I do not recommend that, because of your security!
