Can't Find Help Anywhere

I have tried searching for the solution to the problem but still have no luck...
When I am connected to my router and I try to join a channel it acts like it's going to join but just sits there and never does...then I switch to someone else's wireless internet and try joining and it works just fine... so its obviously something I need to tweak in my router settings, but what?

Try to find anything IRC-related and disable it.

have you changed your settings or some program you downloaded required you to like add-ons or bittorrent accelerators. if so the best thing would be to try cybershadows idea. if that doesn't work then reset your wireless settings.
