Just get FlashGet from http://www.flashget.com/en/download.htm

and have the entire wmdb.org maps on your hard-drive

Copy-paste this in the URL field http://www.wmdb.org/maps/(*)-download

set the Wildcard bytes to 1 and a range of 1000 (e.g. From: 1 To: 1000 / From: 1467 To: 2466)

Have you already done this?
How many maps are there on WMDB and what is the entire filesize?

Have you tried downloading only maps of a certain genre?
I.e. would it work to get all Walk For Weapons maps by using the URL http://wmdb.org/maps/wfw?

WMDB will probably be down frequently due to the high traffic if several people do that simultaneously.

Yep. Anyone here a Myst fan? Well, back when the free Uru expansion - To D'ni came out, I remember we (the UruObsession forum), we crashed the Ubisoft download server. Or at least that one. :D

Before this thread was approved and made publicly visible, WMDB's administrators have assured me that their server can take the load.

The last map index shows 7477 (@ Tue, 12 Aug 10:00AM GMT+2), but there are about 5.500 available-to-download maps totaling ~600 MB.

Yes, I tried downloading maps of a certain genre, but it's not done this way.

That's not an absolute value.
It depends on how much crap you can your HDD can take.
