WWP Connection Different From W:A?

I recently reinstalled WWP. In W:A I never had problems connecting to WormNet. I had no problems connecting to WormNet in WWP either.

But now (I've already installed the service pack) I'm getting "Failed connection to gameserver" or something. Also, when the "Please Wait" window is up, the blue box where WormNet loads says that the page is blocked or something. I may have paraphrased.

It's odd as in W:A I never needed a proxy or firewall permission editing or anything.

Any ideas?

Well, the only difference is where W:A uses the standard IRC port 6667, WWP uses the nonstandard port 6677, so your ISP (unlikely) or a firewall or proxy server may be blocking this port.

Sorry for the ungodly thread necromancy, but I've returned to this problem and just want to get this one question answered without making a thread. I also have a friend I'd like to show the answer to if I find it out, so here:

Not that I know of, the only way I know of is by buying W:A.
