Hi, the original 1.05 version of the game simply won't let you play the game under Windows NT and newer operating systems thus preventing you from potentially screwing up the game and making you reinstall the game.

Does the 3.0.0 patch remove this check? otherwise, how do people "run" the game and **** up the installation of the game under the Windows NT Family?

Maybe they used the -lgntforce command line switch to launch the installer on NT?

I'm asking because every blatantly tells people that running the game before installing the Update can screw the installation up when the issue is mostly isolated to win9x systems which I believe the v3.0.0 and 1.05 work on.

Well, Windows NT AFAIK can't run WA because of the lack of DX.

Windows NT covers everything from 3.5 up to vista which all use a NT kernal.

That would be "NT-based operating system". See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_NT

Am I the only one who saw this coming? Franpa sure does like his "Trick questions" doesn't he?

All I was after is, why several people say to reinstall the game when the OP said they had a "NT-based operating system".
