View Full Version : Firefox 3 Download Day 2008
The Firefox 3 Download Day 2008 takes place on the 17th of June this year!
www.spreadfirefox.com
Anyone of you pledged?
Bleh, I'll download it because I like FF3, I won't download it because of some ****ty record thing but that will most likely occur as a side effect anyways.
I might download it just to se if they fixed the glitch were firefox will bounce up and down. I've had that problem for months ;D
Should've been kept in the "Which browser do you use" thread.
Opera 9.5 is already out, and it is much faster than the old version and way faster than Firefox! Why not upgrade to Opera?

Downloading it at the same time as everyone else? That's gonna lead to some slow rates...

What's a couple of minutes more or less?

Okay. I'll give her a shot but if I'm not into the interface you owe me something not yet determined.
Is there a way to change the tab behaviour so it is like Firefox? IE: focus is NOT put on new tabs? I see nothing for that in opera 9.50's basic options.

To open a link in the background just middle-click/Ctrl-Shift-click it.
So there is NO way to change how context menu options behave? :(

Right click. You can either open in new tab, or open in second plane.

I've recently discovered that I prefer Safari to Firefox.
The End.
So far, June 18th 2008 and no Firefox 3 :(

What do you mean? I got it last night?
EDIT: At last, I found an improvement over FF2: alt text (i.e. on images) can now be much longer and are displayed in a box instead of a line  Example: Hover on the image! (http://drmcninja.com/page.php?pageNum=39&issue=11)
not on there update server, I went to use firefox's built in updater and there was no update when i made the ^ post.

IIRC, the built-in updater doesn't update to later versions, it only updates the current version.
yea, i was using 3.0.0 rc2 though. not 2.0.0.x

That has happened for a while in Opera.

So there is NO way to change how context menu options behave? :(Sure, you can change the mouse gestures, keyboard shortcuts or context menus, just edit the respective INI (http://operawiki.info/EditingINIFiles).
Yeah, .ini editing is useful. Just delete the open in new tab option. Edit standard_menu.ini , go to the section [Link Popup Menu] and put a semicolon and a space before 'Item, MI_IDM_MENU_PAGEBAR_LINK_IN_NEW_PAGE = Open link in new page, -2, "urlinfo"'

He's a human, Opera is a computer program... Their love is impossible.

Though metal Alex is partly right, opera just had the tendency to go unresponsive. They boasted that they were the fastest, but Firefox just loves me like crazy.
Opera is like 7 times faster then firefox 3 at rendering pages >.> hence why i jumped ship.

I didn't like Opera, dunno why. I guess I'm just a Firefox person.
Thanks to muzer, Opera pretty much IS firefox :P or atleast for me it is.
So did they break any records?
Amazing work! Over 8,000,000 downloads in 24 hours!
Thanks to your support there were over 8 million downloads of Firefox 3 in 24 hours! Please be patient while our judges and Guinness validate our record attempt.
Just wait...

That you switched the names in the post, and also changed shadowmoon's name to shadowmon possibly because you have some bizarre and incredibly embarrassing fetish with pokemons?

Does anyone here (with FF3) use Windows Live Hotmail?
If so is yours working properly? Mine has forced me into 'classic' mode telling me to try deleting cache/cookies but I dont want to do this if the fault is just caused by FF3 not being compatible or something...
