Someone found this in WWP, and I assume it will work in WA as well:

Nah, all is well now...I used the following shortcut command to always start WWP in high priority, which eliminated the problem, as it theoretically gives more focus on the game.

"C:\WINDOWS\System32\cmd.exe /c start "WWP" /high B:\Shared\games\WWP\wwp.exe"

So, to reiterate for WA, right click on your WA shortcut, click "properties", go into the target box and type:

"C:\WINDOWS\System32\cmd.exe /c start "WA" /high

Then, after that type the path to your WA.exe (ie what was in the startup box before)

When W:A is running on high priority on my computer, it begins to skip keystrokes (controls become randomly unresponsive for a short while). I assume that's because keyboard controls are processed by some other process that isn't getting enough CPU time.

That sounds similar to my issue with Worms 2, Cybershadow.

These solutions are coming in in droves! Someone developed another that the principle of which will work with W:A but annoyingly they made it WWP-only. You might want to PM the creator, Cyber. Thread: http://forum.team17.co.uk/showthread.php?t=36539
