Worms2 running really slow

Never had this problem before but Worms 2 is running really slow. When I open frontend.exe it takes at least 20 seconds to open. It now also takes about 20 seconds to join a game where it used to take less and 7 seconds.

Hosting, well it takes well over 40 seconds for the hosting screen to appear. While I'm waiting frontend all goes white. It only used to take me about 10 seconds to host a game before.

I have tried reinstalling it and completely removing associated folders and registry entries and I still have the same problem after reinstalling.

Does anyone know how I could fix this?

i run without a cd but i fixed it.

strangely enough it was my router. i was trying to get to the admin page by typing in the gateway address but it couldnt find it. so i manually restarted the router and the problems went away!
