Keep losing WA Team Data! Help!

for some reason, every so often, my WA team data just refreshes itself (also losing the original teams 1up-6up and cpu1-5), i don't know why but i've never got to finish the mission and TeamED doesn't work either - it says that the data is corrupt - i tried reinstalling twice and just the same. (although - first time i got the default teams and then a week later it lost the data again).

I'm not sure, i got it from a friend. Its not a copy. I didn't the case with it, the front of the CD looks WA Icon (the brown and yellow radioactive one). I can't find anywhere on the disc where it would say where its from :(.

What operating system are you using?
Did you install the latest Beta version?

I'm using Windows ME, and all i've installed is the game off the CD, nothing from the websites. (except the fiddler a short while ago).
