Has anyone tested wine version 0.9.60? I'm having problems installing older versions of wine on the latest ubuntu, because they've removed libldap2 from the repo. Also, which is the newest that works?

EDIT: I would need a correctly compiled ddraw.dll as it doesn't have one. MEH?

EDIT2: NVM, the version of the library for Gutsy worked.

i downloaded the source and the patches not the dlls.
then i patched wine with the patch (patch -p0 < patchfile)

after this ./tools/wineinstall works fine. i patched wine0.9.60 with the 0.9.52 patch (the newest) and even with the 0.9.44 patch. to try it out and thereby to fail.

It's been broken since around 0.9.43.

It works on 0.9.60? I'll give it a shot and see if it works

And lookias - WHY RAPIDSHARE - it now sucks so badly now.

Edit: Confirmed it works!!!!

Thats a problem with worms itself anyways.

Apart from me having to copy over the WA files from my Vista Dell, it works moreorless flawlessly. The only issue is using fullscreen mode, the mouse doesn't work as it should.

But yes, I can play worms on my Intel vista problem laptop! Thank you Muzer for bringing this to our attention

Depending on how recent your wine version is, you can use

wine start /unix replay_filename.wagame

or

cd /path/to/Worms\ Armageddon
wine start "$(winepath --unix "replay_filename.wagame")"

i think i will write a convenience tool for wa and wine. i allways have to start keychanger, then worms. i find that is a bit complicated.
watching replays will be in aswell.

It would be better to fix wine so that your work helps other programs as well (but may not be feasible).

Now I think about it, you may also be able to open replays with "Wine Windows Emulator", which in recent versions will use the windows association.

The other features (such as log extraction) can only be accessed by the command line unfortunately. An external tool would be good for this, although improvements to wine's shell would be ideal.

i tried wormsphysx in wine0.9.44, so it worked. i was able to watch my replays. it simply executes wa with some command line arguments.
