Strangest Problem Ever

Ok, heres a really strange one. I play W:A and once I exit the game I cannot load any other applications. I click on Firefox and the task loads but the browser doesn't. I tried a few other programs (Windows Media Player, IE) and the same result. I cannot end these tasks in the task manager and I can't end explorer.exe either. Only way out is a reset. I don't know what could cause that because its the only application that has ever done this to me.

Where did you get your copy of W:A from?

Did you try temporarily disabling any anti-virus or other security software?

I have the original CD I purchased in 1999. It is black and yellow and if released by microprose. I have updated to the recent beta. Anti-virus and other security software have been disabled.

Does the same happen if you run W:A without it entering full-screen graphics mode, for example if you extract the log from a replay?

Could you try updating your video card drivers?
Note that the drivers on Windows Update are often not the latest version. Please check your video card manufacturer's web site.
